What makes this pumpkin ale unique is our use of local fruit to flavor the beer, as opposed to traditional pumpkin pie spices. We started with Jon Boy Yellowstone peaches from Braces Orchard and Goliath Pumpkins from Dymond’s Farm, both located in Dallas, Pennsylvania.Using a combination of Pilsner and dark Crystal malts, we brewed a “stew” in the Decoction kettle with the peaches, pumpkins, and Pennsylvania black raspberries. After fermentation, cold-conditioning, and filtration, a second addition of black raspberry puree is blended into the finished beer. The resulting deep-ruby red Ale is evocative of Autumn colors across Pennsylvania.

On tap at Capone’s. Poured an amber color with a small sized off white head. I’m not crazy about over spiced pumpkin beers or real peachy beers...this one was both. Lots of pumpkin spices with lots of peach. Would like to have had more on the pumpkin and even berriness.

Pours a nice deep ruby color with a medium white head. Aroma has light raspberry notes...touch of doughyness. Flavor is doughy...gourd, almost a hint of maple...notable raspberry. Mouthfeel is light and the finish is doughy raspberry with an odd mild spice. I feel like there is potential here but its too light and too subtle with the flavors.
