COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION What makes this pumpkin ale unique is our use of local fruit to flavor the beer, as opposed to traditional pumpkin pie spices. We started with Jon Boy Yellowstone peaches from Braces Orchard and Goliath Pumpkins from Dymond’s Farm, both located in Dallas, Pennsylvania.Using a combination of Pilsner and dark Crystal malts, we brewed a “stew” in the Decoction kettle with the peaches, pumpkins, and Pennsylvania black raspberries. After fermentation, cold-conditioning, and filtration, a second addition of black raspberry puree is blended into the finished beer. The resulting deep-ruby red Ale is evocative of Autumn colors across Pennsylvania.
