3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle poured a clear reddish brown with a small lasting tan head. Aromas of roasted malt, earthiness and light licorice. Palate was medium bodied and crisp with a smooth finish. Flavors of roasted malt and cocoa with a smooth lingering cocoa finish.

1.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 6/20
Twelve ounce bottle, drank from a pint glass. Pours a dark, chocolatey color. The head is lacey with a carmel color. Aromas of chocolate and malts. I wish this beer tasted as good as it smells and looks! Looks super delicious but tastes like a pilsner ultra light... Malt-water...

1.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Bottle. Pours dark but somewhat transparent in the glass, not enough for me to call it black. Flat, with little carbonation. This beer doesnít really taste much at all like a Pilsner to me. It tasted pretty generic, and if I hadnít been able to see it, I might even guess it to be an amber ale. Quite sweet. Little to no roast in the aroma. Very malty, however, with a slight sourness to the malt. Weak hop presence. When I think Pilsner, I think light body, crisp hoppy bitterness, and a strong grassy malt. I get none of this. RateBeer classifies this as a "Schwarzbier" but I donít really get that either...thereís not any roast evident in the aroma. I found this an unremarkable beer and would not drink it again. The sweetness and sourness were what really killed it for me...both were too much and made it a little unpleasant to drink, although I did finish it rather than pouring it out. Iíd prefer a number of cheaper beers.

Draft at local Damonís. Pours licorice with a thin khaki head. Doesnít leave much lacing. A bit of licorice malt on he nose. A bit thin on the tongue with some caramel malt forward on the tongue. Finishes with a touch of bitterness. Solid but not my favorite style.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Aroma of roasted malts. Light brown coloring with a small head and no lacing. The taste is a roasted caramel, sweet and slightly sticky. Easy drinking beer that would make a good session beer.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Poured from 12oz bottle. Deep, dark in color, reddish brown if you hold it up to a light. Slight foam that dissipates quickly. Nose of roasty malt and molasses, it a bit thin on the tongue, but has huge sweet malt notes. Finishes with a hint of cherry and tingling hops.

12 ounce bottle that came in a trade with jdb288. This is dark amber with a beige head. A lot of carbonation rises up. I smell earthy malts but little else. Those are tasted, too along with some interesting hops that include noble varieties. The malts lead and are quite rich. This is a Pilsner? The hops have some grass and mild bitterness. A little cocoa and that defines the finish. A pils? Whatever it is it is interesting.
