Nice rye flavor and deep coloring of amber red. A little bread aroma and taste. The hops have a real kick. Tap

Very nice sized bright white head of fine bubbles and very good carbonation. Aroma is ripe fruit, peaches and lemons along with some dry grass, light malts and earthy hoppiness. Color is a slightly hazy bright orange. Lively in the mouth with some tea leaves, floral hops, moderate bitterness and lemon grass. Lingering herbal bitterness. Light alcohol presence and warming. This is a pretty good and better than i expected. I have come to have low expectations from a lot of the local PA brewers. This ones is pretty decent.

Draft at Whole Foods. Deep copper hazy pour with off-white head. Nose was rye malt, hops, earthy, with the flavor being rye forward, with piney hops, caraway notes, caramel. Solid beer.

Transfer from BA review on 5-4-14- Poured from growler into a pint glass Appearance – The beer pours a clear amber color with a two finger head of white foam. The head has a good level of retention, slowly fading to leave a good level of foamy lace on the sides of the glass. Smell – The aroma of the beer is heaviest of a grapefruit hop smell mixed with a moderately potent rye bread aroma. Along with these aromas are some quite nice smells of a tropical fruit nature with some tangerine and mango along with some other hop aromas of a pine nature. Overall the aroma has a nice blend of hop, rye, and fruity smells. Taste – The taste begins with a nice smooth and moderately sweet flavor, with it being as a mix of a lighter grapefruit hop, some fruity flavors of tangerine and mango and a nice somewhat doughy and bready flavor. As the taste advances the rye that was detected in the nose starts coming to the tongue, mixing with the fruity-sweet and grapefruit nicely. Some flavors of lemon come to the tongue around the middle of the taste being accompanied by some flavors of herbs and a lighter flavor of pine. The pine grows stronger to the end with it replacing some of the grapefruit hop that was present upfront. Along with the increase in the pine, there is also an increase in the fruity flavors of the brew, and with a slight increase in the rye flavors, one is left with a pleasant sweet tropical fruity rye bread flavor to linger on the tongue. Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is on the slightly thicker and chewier side with a carbonation level that is on the lower side. These characteristics are quite nice for blending the sweeter tropical fruits with the blend of hop and the rye to make for a rather smooth and easy drinker. Overall – A very enjoyable rye IPA with a good balance of fruitiness, rye, and hop. Quite enjoyable.

Pour is med amber with a 1 1/2 inch head that dissipated quick. Aroma is malts up front with lite yeast and hop notes. A much hoppy beer then the aroma lets on to. Starts with nice hops and malt flavors and finishes with tropical fruit and lite bitterness.

Bottle. Pours hazy orange/gold with tall frothy white head. Lots of pine in the nose, some floral notes. Taste has that rye "bite"; spicy and complex along with some sweetness. Short, crisp finish. Paired great with the Indian food we were eating. Not bad.

Bottle at Paul’s May 2014 tasting. Pours a clear copper body with white lacing. Aroma is spice, light alcohol - rye I guess - and some malt. Mouthfeel is medium with notes of spicy alcohol, light sweetness, rye and some fruit.

Bottle. Pours a clear light copper body under a one finger frothy white head that left a bit of light lacing. The aroma is nicely spicy and hoppy, very fresh smelling, minimal sweetness, lots of rye, and just a hint of alcohol. The flavor is pretty spicy as well with a decent amount of rye malt and bright citrusy and fruity hoppiness. Nice lingering and snappy bitterness on the finish. Pretty well hidden alcohol level for bing 8% ABV. Pretty nice beer.
