COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
On the 25th of May 2005 was the fortified nobleman’s farm (Stormandsgård) at Bornholms Middleagecenter opened in the presence of Her Majesty the Queen Margrethe the 2nd. At the nobleman’s farm only the best was good enough for the nobleman and his guests. As a tastefull memory about the opening and Her Majesty the Queens visit, Bornholms Middleage center and Svaneke Bryghus developed this Stormandsøl. The beer is brewed after proud traditions at Svaneke Bryghus. Enjoy!

500 ml bottle sampled in 2008. Clear amber body with a small off-white head. A bit weak aroma of malt, honey and liquorice. Flavor is light roasted malt, spices and moderate bitterness. Medium body and weak in aftertaste. A bit strange and the flavor remind me a bit about forest, but I don’t know why. No wood and no pine. Not great but interesting.

Bottle 50cl. @ home.
Clear dark red brown color with a large, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white to light beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, caramel, chocolate. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20090329]

Courtesy of Thelonius, thanks Jan! It is brown-black with a red hue and a huge, creamy head. The aroma has notes of roasted malt, caramel and hints of licorice and nuts. The flavour has a light sweetness and notes of roasted malt, cocoa, caramel, licorice and the finish is dry with a touch of citrus. It’s a really nice dunkel.

Bottle, thx to OleR. It pours a clear, ruby body with a small. beige head. Sweetness, licorice notes, dried fruits and some herbs in the aroma. The flavor has some malty sweetness, some roasted malt, a touch of licorice and some herbal hops giving bitterness. Medium to thin on the palate. Sweetish finish with some herbal bitterness. A strange on, quite decent, but even though it’s quite good, I don’t care for a re-visit. (081229)

Bottle. Large creamy beige head that mostly lasted. Good display of lacework. Dark mahogany color. Aroma of toasted malt, caramel and mild underlying dusty floral hops. Over the palate came mild sweet chocolate and light roasted malt with a hint of smoke. Also mild spicy feel. Medium bodied with an average carbonation and mild dry texture. Moderated sweet flavor with good counter bitterness. Caramelized roasted malt with a mild bitter hoppy finish.

Dejlig øl endnu en gang fra svaneke, de laver bare god øl derover på bornholm og denne gang med historisk vingesus.
