3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
50 cl bottle. Different label. 5.7 ABV.
Aroma is extremely dominated by chocolate and vanilla. Very sweet body and extremely warming finish. I miss some bitternes and complexity in this brew.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
UPDATED: JAN 6, 2011 Bottle, as Kjaerstrup Chocolate Stout. Aromas of vanilla, chocolate, butter, caramel. Dark brown with tan head. Taste is much the same, like a crossover between a sweet chocolate toffee and a stout. Probably it will be too overwhealming to drink a bottle, but I sheared it with four friends, and then it was good. Rating: 6-4-8-3-17-3.8. 050923
Bottle, as Choko Stout. It’s a dark chestnut beer, clear, and with a small, beige head. Chocolate, dried fruits, some hints of DMS and a pleasant roasted touch in the aroma. Coffee, chocolate and dried fruits in the flavor, finishing with mostly chocolate. Medium body. A nice beer indeed, but not as nice as I remember it from five years ago, guess my palate has evolved. 100917

1.9 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20
500 ml bottle, bought in Denmark. ABV is 5.7%. Dark ruby nearly black colour, large tan head. Aroma is overhelming chocolate (like chocolate sauce), artificial vanilla, cocoa, candy and caramel. Definitely too much of all the sweet aromas. Flavour is not quite as overwhelmingly sweet as the aroma makes you fear, but pretty close. Again: too much chocolate, cocoa and artificial vanilla, some coffee notes too. I’m not amused. Couldn’t finish the bottle.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottled, alc. 5.7 % (BB 03/2006, different label than in RB photo)
Dark ruby, good tanned head, lace. Strong nose of milk chocolate and vanilla pudding. Suprisingly this is not very sweet - more like hoppy bitter with dark chocolate (coffee, cocoa). Long bitter aftertaste with burnt coffee beans.

4.1 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
(50cl bottle, best by 3/06) Clear dark red-brown body topped by a big tan head. Aroma is sweet, CHOCOLATE (they definitely are not kidding about it being a chocolate beer), specifically cocoa -- stronger chocolate aroma than I have ever experienced before, accented by cappuchino. Taste is sweet, strong cocoa, cappuchino. Smooth medium body. No real bitterness.
Ratings vary a goodly amount but it really boils down to this -- if the idea of a beer dessert appeals to you, this may be your dream beer. Otherwise, well, you have been warned. By way of comparison, this beer has DDC Aphrodisiaque beat aromawise, but Aphrodisiaque has a better taste.

UPDATED: JAN 18, 2007 (Bottle 70 cl) Comes as "Kjaerstrup Chocolate Stout". Almost black with a reddish tint, very subdued, small head - heavy carbonation. Pronounced chocolatey notes, adding a bitter touch. Very extraordinary beer that goes well with....chocolate. 100404

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
(on bottle)I don´t know about this; it´s the most chocolated beer I´ve ever had and that´s about it, It´s good chocolate and they told me in the shop that it is aa new brew compared to ½ a year ago. If you want good chocolate in liquid form, go for this baby.

3.9 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
50 cl Bottle. At Morten birthday, thanks. Black to dark brown in colour, with the most wonderful aroma of choclate. This beer is really amazing, it’s allmost to drink a beer with the mouth full of choclate. Nice palate, and a lovely aftertaste. But!!!!!! When I had drink a half bottle, I had too much of it.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle. Dark brown with a cappucino coloured very fine lasting head. The aroma is pure chocolate and nothing else. But in this case it is great quality chocolate and not the cheap rubbish that a lot of other producers of chocolate stouts seem to fancy in their beer. To me good quality chocolate is one of the most complex and immensely satisfying flavours in the world, so I’m all for this beer. On the palate the beer is mediumbodied and with a slight bitter finish from the hops reminding you that this is actually beer and not liquid chocolate.

2.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
Bottle. Dark red brown colour with a big baige head. Heavy sweet milk chocolat aroma and taste. Medium body and a super sweet finish. To sweet chocolat like, almost pervers.
