3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle. Dark brown with a cappucino coloured very fine lasting head. The aroma is pure chocolate and nothing else. But in this case it is great quality chocolate and not the cheap rubbish that a lot of other producers of chocolate stouts seem to fancy in their beer. To me good quality chocolate is one of the most complex and immensely satisfying flavours in the world, so I’m all for this beer. On the palate the beer is mediumbodied and with a slight bitter finish from the hops reminding you that this is actually beer and not liquid chocolate.

2.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
Bottle. Dark red brown colour with a big baige head. Heavy sweet milk chocolat aroma and taste. Medium body and a super sweet finish. To sweet chocolat like, almost pervers.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Black body with a light brown head. Sweet aroma with lots of milk chocolate. Roasted malts in the flavor with again lots of chocolate, very onedimensional.

Bottle @ HBK Black Beer Festival, Nynäshamn Backlog 26 Nov 2004
Smells like a certain Swedish chocolate candy (Plopp). Quite sour in taste and has a dry instant cappuccino final.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Intensive and impressive chocolate/cocoa aroma. Flavour is sweet and full of chocolate as well - they must have used "a ridiculous amount" of chocolate for this stout (which also makes it pretty expensive)! Finish is mild and pleasant. A very good dessert beer (but you don’t want to drink an entire bottle yourself).

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Low light brown head on a dark brown body. The aroma is definitely chocolate, the taste starts with malty but ends with dark chocolate and hint of vanilla. overall, very well balanced, just the right beer-chocolate combination, and a nice drink for (chocolate) dessert.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Dark brown with a small beige head.
Sweet aroma with lots of milk chocolate, vanilla and a bit malt.
Sweet taste dominated by milk chocolate, malt, caramel, vanilla and an OK hoppy bitterness.
The vanilla is too dominating for my liking.

1.8 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20
Bottle. Has added color!?! Black with off-white head... Artificial aroma and flavor, vanilla, chocolate, sweet pipe tobacco. Medium bodied. Actually a little disgusting.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 15/20
A red-brown beer with a huge chocolate brown head. The aroma is almost overwhelmingly full of chocolate - milk chocolate, but also contains notes of vanilla. The mouthfeel is quite thin - a surprise to me, at the alcohol content and for a beer from Svaneke. The flavor contains lots of chocolate, primarily milk chocolate, but in the end also some bitter chocolate. Besides all the chocolate the flavor also contains vanilla and some roasted malt. I wonder how this will mature.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Black beer, beige lasting head. Good carbonation. Complex, sweet aroma: Vanilla, cherry (cola?), chocolate. The flavour is more vanilla, roasted and sweet malts. Hints of licorice. Moderately dry finish. Watery palate. Very well balanced. Overall, great mild (chocolate) stout. This is really something to brag a about...
