COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

Pours a mildly cloudy amber with small head. Sweet malty aroma and flavour. Not complex - too sweet, and while it’s a decently brewed beer it’s not very interesting.

Palme (2234) - Bergen, NORWAY - MAR 18, 2013
0.5l bottle shared with The Tasting Crew. This is a cloudy dark caramel-golden beer with a small bubbly and quickly sidesticking off-white top. The nose has a soft wheat sweetness, Christmas spices like ginger and nutmeg, and it’s quite hoppy. Perhaps a bit to much to be true to the style, but I like it. It’s below average on the carbonation with a soft oily mouthfeel. Ripe fruity flavors. It’s on the sweet side, but also surprisingly hoppy. Dusty flavors as well, and it’s almost astringently mouthdrying towards the finish. Some soft traces of wheat perhaps, but it’s not to classic within this genre IMO. 06.02.2013

ClubGonzo (2689) - Bergen, NORWAY - MAR 10, 2013
Bottle, shared with Bergen Beer Geek Tasting Crew and Foffern. Pours a light coppery hazy body with a small white head. Aroma is wheaty spice tones, cloves, ripe banana, caramel, hints of grains and almonds. Taste is sweet caramel and wheat tones, toffee, raisins and grains. Smooth and nice. Full body, soft carbonation. Perhaps not terribly exciting, but a pretty well-made weizen bock from Svaneke.

Foffern (728) - Bergen, NORWAY - MAR 5, 2013
Bottle shared with (and great courtasy of) the Bergen Tasting Crew. Pours a clear amber colour with a small kahki head. Has a sweet and fruity aroma with hops, apricot, bubble gum, herbal and pretty malty. Very pleasant with small touch of spices. The taste is similar but a bit faint and with a good dose of grassy hops. Has a slick mouth feel, and a light to medium bitterness. Pleasant and well-balanced.

Bottle. It’s an unclear light brown body and a minimal sized off-white to beige head. It’s quite fruity on the palate, with some chocolate hints and dried fruits. Slightly salty on the palate, with caramel, sweetness notes, some lemony hints and a pleasant bitterness in the flavor. Pleasant carbonation, medium body. Bitter, caramel-ish finish. A rather boring one, and to be honest, not very good either. 121102
