Kaatuu lasiin mustana ja niukalla, katoavalla vaahdolla. Haju on alkoholinen, paahteinen/savuinen, mausteinen ja hieman kuivattua hedelmää löytyy. Maku on alkoholin polttama, mausteinen (ainakin kanelia ja kardemummaa löytyy) ja hieman savuisen viskinen. Suutuntuma on alkoholinen ja hyökkäävä. Kokonaisuutena pettymys, melko viinainen ja liikaa yritetty tuote.

50cl bottle thanks to Nikolai. Pours a chestnut brown colour with a slight red hue and a thin crema head. The nose has quite a dominant green hop note, possibly herbs or grassiness, then some baked apple and cinnamon. The taste has more of the baked fruit, some chocolate and spice. The palate is medium to full bodied, with a tangy texture and a fairly elegant finish.

21.11.2012. On tap at Amundsen brygghus, Oslo. Dark brown colour with tan head. Aroma is rich malty with lots of sweetness and dark malts. Rich body with nice strength. Very sweet all the way.

Shared bottle at Cardinal. Cloudy mahogany body with a tan colored rim. Toasted notes, leather, barnyard, dark dried fuits on the nose. Herbal hoppy malty leather toasted bitter in the mouth. Medium body. Light syrupy texture.

On tap @ Baran, Bergen. Pours a deep brown, near-black body with a medium off-white creamy head. Nose is chocolate, nuts, grains, sweet bread dough and faint fruity hints. Taste is raisins, chocolate, candi sugar and hints of cereals and grains. Full body, medium carbonation. Nice enough.

Fra flaske på Cardinals juleøltreff nov-12: det var nok urettferdig at jeg prøvde denne etter Gouden Carolus Christmas. Må prøve den på nytt, da inntrykket var "ikke god".

Shared bottle at Cardinal. Pours dark as Coke with a small off-white head.Aroma of liquorice and malts. Taste is good malty, moderate sweet, well balanced, good one.

Very dark ruby, rich spicy aroma. Sweet, prunes, sweet cherries, I would have liked more bitterness.

Strong, nuanced and inviting aroma has sweet licorice, caramel, coffee, citrus-pine hoppiness. Red/brown to black, thin but long head. Taste is delicious, long, nuanced. Elements from aroma. Roasted and sweet parts combine nicely with fruits and pine. Full, round, long dry piney finish. All parts work together well to a great beer.
