3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20 KingCecil (1806) - DENMARK - MAY 1, 2011
Fra flaske, dufter dejligt af kaffe og lakrids. Flot sort med medium lysebrunt skum. Super balance mellem kaffe og lakrids med en sød lakrids eftersmag....:)
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Sigmund (4162) - Tau, NORWAY - APR 26, 2011
500 ml bottle, bought by my wife on the DFDS ferry Oslo - Copenhagen. ABV is 6.0%. Opaque black colour, big tan head. Nice aroma of liquorice (no surprise), moderately roasted malts and coffee, also distinct notes of smoke. The flavour has distinct notes of liquorice, but the beer is not too sweet. Also notes of moderately roasted malts and mild coffee, just a hint of smoke. A hint of chili in the finish. A quite nice and drinkable stout, but if you hate liquorice, this is obviously not the beer for you.

Bottle. Dark brown colour with a beige head. Aroma is licorice, malt, fruit, caramel. Flavour is licorice, roasted malt, sugar, hop, alcohol, fruit, caramel. Medium to full body. OK beer.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 Stefano (1794) - Esbjerg, DENMARK - APR 7, 2011

500 ml bottle. A bit hazy, dark brown body with a big and dense tan head. Aroma has liquorices, dark malt and a bit fruity. Flavor is sweet, dark malt, distinct liquorices without being overwhelming. Feels quite clean with a moderate bitter finish. Not as much liquorices flavor as expected, and that’s a fine thing. Pleasant and interesting.
3.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 jesperhammer (2203) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - MAR 9, 2011
26-FEB-2011, @Morten, from "Skjold Burne".
High beige lasting head.
Weak sweet stout nose.
Liqourice shows up on the taste. A step up from the regular Svaneke Stout. I am not a huge Svaneke fan, but this is fine.
Just the right amount of liqourice to add something interesting without destroying the stout.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Ungstrup (26214) - Citizen of the universe, DENMARK - MAR 8, 2011
Bottled. A pitch black beer with a thick dark brown head. The aroma has notes of roasted malt, chocolate, and liquorice. The flavor is sweet with strong notes of liquorice combined with medium notes of hard roasted malt and chocolate, leading to a very dry finish where the liquorice note lingers for a long time. Thanks yespr for this beer.
3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Meilby (4467) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - MAR 7, 2011
Bottle 500ml @ yngwie
Pours black with a off-white head. Aroma has notes of caramel, butter and licorice. Taste is light to medium sweet with an average licorice root finish. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 ClubGonzo (2689) - Bergen, NORWAY - MAR 5, 2011
Bottle, courtesy of Meilby. Deep brown, near black body, small beige top. Nose is mild licorice tones with hints of dark chocolate. Initially, this beer tastes much of caramel, then hints of licorice roots come in with some dark chocolate hints. Nice and subtle, but not really that interesting in my opinion.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Defreni (2045) - Husum, DENMARK - MAR 4, 2011
