Damn good beer, you can taste the island of Bornholm (the taste of herring) in the beer, wonderful. A quite unique bitter finish, with a touch of caramel!

Enjoyed at a street cafe in Roskilde. Absolutely lovely! Lots of floaties in the glass and an odd malt flavor that was engaging. No hops whatsoever - yeah! Rather sweet.

UPDATED: APR 26, 2006 Wow! This truly is an amazing beer. Beautiful chestnut brown colour, albeit with a quickly diminishing head. Aroma and flavour compliment each other in a very complex and wonderful way: malts, caramel, cappuccino, nuts, etc. All this along with a strange, but pleasant sensation of the Baltic Sea (the sea that surrounds the island of Bornholm) - don’t know how else to describe it?!? The finish is round and medium bitter. I believe this is the best bottom fermentation beer I have ever tasted!

Bottle,Thanks Mads: Oarnge/brown with streaming carbonation, bottle conditioned. Thick, creamy, head. Aroma is very grainy...malty,slightly fruity, nutty. Palate is like velvet, with a touch of carbonation.Fairly big body. Delicious, malt flavors.Lots of bread, tobacco, fruit, toffee, nuts. Very fresh tasting. Finish is more clean malts(bready, sweet) with no real hop presence. Extremely tasty beer!

Unfiltered cloudy brown. A must try if you visit the island of Bornholm. A wonderful quite sour taste with some fruityness. Definately a good and refreshing beer.

Dark cloudy amber with a tight white head. Very aromatic: toffee, malt, choccolate, you name it. Taste is sweet, buttery and full. A little more hops, and it would be perfect!

Beutiful amber colour, with a big smell of caramel and with a hazy head. Good taste and some fruit in the aftertaste.

Has a dark amber colour with a nice beige head. Aroma is magnificent. Sweet malt, hops, caramel/chocolate, spices and roastyness. Even some notes of liquorice. Flavour stands up to the aroma. Chocolate and coffee comes to my mind. Nice bitterness in the end, that last long on the palate. All in all yet another good beer from Svaneke Bryghus.

No doubt that Svaneke Bryghus is one of the most interesting breweries in Denmark. This beer has a dark-amber color with a creamy long-lasting head. It is sweet at first, and in the end. A lovely beer
