2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Cloudy yellow with a disappearing hite head. Toffee and butterscotch in the aroma, ith grassy hops. Sweet pilsner malt flavour, with a decent background of hop bitterness, just not coming together in a very pleasant way

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Tasted 2008-02-08. Fresh bottle. Pours hazy, yellow with white head. Aroma: Sweet and malty. Flavours: Slightly bitter with a malty aftertaste (strangely not the other way around). The bitterness is a bit off; unpleasant! It’s a fairly good pilsner but nothing special.

3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Biggish white head shrinks slowly. Yellow slightly hazy body with light carbonation. Sweetish mealy yeasty aroma with fruity notes and faint grassy hop notes. Dry chalky faintly fruity malty taste with grassy hop notes. Lemony notes. Chalky, powdery mouthfeel. Dry grassy dandelion hop aftertaste. Not bad, but a bit muddy and boring. The hops make a good contribution, but don’t stand out enough. (0.5l bottle at Cardinal.)

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
UPDATED: MAY 21, 2011 50 cl bottle. Unfiltered. Pours unclear/hazy gar yellow with a handsome egg white head & laicings. Aroma is fresh - grassy malty & hops. Body & carbonation is very pilsner like. Fresh taste with a bitter end. Quite drinkable pilsener!
Bottle as Pilsner May 2011: Fresh, grassy and malty. Very smooth. No off flavours - very clean. Tasty and well made. 3,1 - 3,3

2.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
50 cl bottle. Golden color, hazy when you reach the bottom. Disappering white head. A bit malt and hops, with straw/hay as the dominating flavor. Some sweetness. Bitter finish. Thin and very boring. When you pay 38 Norwegian kroner for a pilsener in the store (Vaaland, Bryne), you expect more than this.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Clear golden of color with a nice white head. An aroma of malt, grain, hops and citrus notes. A flavor of malt, hops, grain and notes of bread. A pretty nice pilsner!

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle. High creamy and long lasting white head. Hazy light yellow body. Mild hops aroma with a note of lemon. As the aroma the flavor is also mild and round but with fair amount of hops bitterness. Low carbonation and a pleasant long bitterness.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
500 ml bottle, courtesy of Cardinal pub, Stavanger. ABV is 4.6%. Like all Svaneke / Bornholmer Bryg beers it is unfiltered, but the bottles are now pasteurised. (The beers are still available unpasteurised on tap in the brewpub.) Pale yellow colour, hazy. Large and lasting head. Pleasant aroma and flavour of flowery and fruity hops (3 different kinds are used, they don’t say which ones, my guess is Hallertauer Mittelfrüh, Tettnang and Spalt), there is a subtle base of pilsener malts, hints of honey. Some bitterness in the finish and aftertaste. Soft mouthfeel, very pleasant to drink. A pilsener well above average.
