50 cL bottle. Pours black with huge creamy and light brown head. Aroma is roasted malt, faint notes of smoke and coffee with some sweetness and light yeastness. Taste is first dark roasted notes: malt and coffee with sweetness followed by refreshing then good bitter hops. End in a roasted bitter blend. Finish is dark and dry. Good and straight forward porter. I’m not able to identify classic Svaneke yeast notes that normally are distinct trademarks of their beers.

Bottled. A pitch black beer with a huge brown head. The aroma is sweet with strong notes of chocolate. The flavor is sweet malty again with strong notes of chocolate combined with roasted malt, which gives it a dry and bitter finish.

UPDATED: APR 8, 2009 (On tap) Black and almost opaque with a reddish hue and a creamy, beige head. Some licorice in the aroma. Fairly full-bodied with a sweetish aroma of roasted malt, some licorice notes and a malt astringency in the finish. But generally a well rounded and pleasant Porter. 110507

Draught at Plan B, Copenhagen
Black color with a creamy beige head. The aroma is mild, but nice, with coffee notes and rubharb candies (I wonder if they exist in Italy only, though; it’s sweet caramel or toffee, but more sourish). Good body structure, good mix of malt (with it’s sugars) and roasted malt (with their bitterness and light sourness). In the final, there is the sweetness again with the bold, roasted bitterness, and a hint of salty liquorice. Good.
