Bottled 500ml. -Courtesy of and shared with Doggythedog (thanks!)
Reddish/brown coloured, medium to big pale beige head, mild roasty nose. Roasted malt, brown sugar and some faint fruityness. Touch of caramel in the finish. Watery palate. According to label this one is "Beer of Czech Republic 2009". My vote is against.

Aroma sweet darker show with lighter caramel and brown sugar notes. Gentle hop finishing. 6-
Appearance excellent appearance. Fine thick haze on light garnet with touches of brown. Large, long lasting stiff beige top. Is this natural or nitro in play? 4+
Flavor and Palate : Caramel on earthy tones . wood , mineral cellar like depth. Soft fine texture. Very smooth , not too sweet. It does have right amount of dryness at finish, Balanced well measured dunkel. Solid choice.

(Rating #1557)

500 ml bottle, bought at Pivni Galerie, Prague. Typical dunkel reddish brown colour, large lasting off-white/beige head. Moderate malty aroma, notes of caramel and leather, maybe some dark fruits too. Low carbonation, a bit thin mouthfeel, malty sweet with notes of molasses, minimal bitterness. Nice enough to drink, but I’d really like some more hops to balance the sweetness. Must be another beer for the target group "convalescents and nursing mothers".

Dark brown-ruby colour with big and steady ehad and medium to smooth body. Nose of sour malt. Taste of dark nuts, dark bread, vanilla, torf, rich malt and caramel. Little bit too metallic finish, but otherwise really nice and easy to drink.

Bottle shared with McTapps. Easy to drink one even if it´s deep and bit milky in its look and the taste. Malt all the way which is not rocket science but a solid one.

50cl Bottle from Tesco Plzen. Deep dark brown to black colour, beige head. Aroma of roasted malts, burnt caramel, nuts, dusty cocoa. Flavour is light sweet, cocoa, roasted malts, light coffee, nuts, bitter burnt caramel finish. Light-bodied. Good dunkel imo.

Back from a Czech Republic pub-crawl this is part of my express ratings for the “typical” Světlý 11°- (Czech light Pils), Světlý 12°+ (Czech Pils), Polotmavý (Czech Amber Lagers) and Tmavý (Czech Black Lagers). Non-typical beers will receive personalized descriptions after the express ratings.
-------- /> How: Tap at Klub Skorpion, Pilsen, Czech Republic
The look: Very dark amber body with a medium tan head
To me a typical Czech Tmavé (Czech Black Lager) is: Dark malts and barely any roastiness sensation. Some dark fruits flavours (raisins with a little figs, dates and prunes) wrapped in smooth dark caramel (borderline toffee) and a subtle chocolate note. A bit bready. Moderately sweet without much hops presence and only a mild bitterness (voluntary unbalanced it seems). Very smooth body, like a watery cream.
This one: As above but a bit less fruity, a bit more roasted with light cacao notes.
