Son in law brought this home. Nice dark beer, good colored foam head. Strong taste, not too sweet, nice bitter. Wonder of it need more cooling? Beer to remember and drink again.

[bottle from Galerie Pivni in Prague] Clear, reddish brown with a nice, lasting yellowy foam that leaves plenty of lacing. Refreshingly "dark" aroma for this style containing coffee and smokey bacon blended with subtle yet typical Pilsner hops. While the aroma was above average, the flavour was a bit disappointing: fairly sweet with pilsnery hopping and obvious alcohol. A little bit of watermelony caramel as well. Medium body, medium carbonation.

Golden/brown colour. Ultra-thick, creamy head. Roasty, almost smoked, malty aroma. Medium bodied, malty, roasty flavour with some sweetness and a subtle bitterness in the finish.

Tap at the Cesky Pivni Festival. Deep ruby colored one with a creamy tan head. Sweet caramel aroma with buttery and roasted malt. Sweet malt and caramel dominates the flavor of the medium bodied beer. Light aftertaste.

Schroppfy (2360) - Łódż, Warsaw, Poland; Michigan, Ohio, USA - OCT 26, 2010
Best before Dec 14, 2010. Aroma of sweet fig along with some slightly roasted coffee and forest/wood/wet earth. Peppery, herbal hop in the aroma too, pretty substantial even. Something of a frothiness to the head; lingering lace. Much, much redder/rubier than the German dunkels I have been having. Looks nice. Flavor has some roastiness, more than in the Germans lately, and waaaay more than in the Polish dunkels! Nice little bit of hop spice in the flavor, of the grass and pepper variety. Overall good, but not mindblowing like some of the recent dunkels I’ve had.

28/03 0.5 l bottle brought from Czech Rep. 5.2%. It poured reddish brown body with medium sized head. Sweet malty aroma, some sweet sugar, caramel and hay in the background. Sweetish flavor as well, caramel with some herbal and coffee bitterness. Fuller in body with pleasant and long cloying finish. Nice, tasty and full bodied dunkel.

Bottle. Dark brown with a frothy, moderately durable head, Moderately roasted aroma with some coffee, caramel, dark chocolate and some vinous elements. Taste is only slightly sweet in the finish, coexisting with a light bitterness. Moderately roasted taste with moderate caramel-coffee-chocolate elements. Everything about this beer is moderate and forgettable.

500 ml bottle in Germany thanks to shrubber85. Pours a very dark red, almost black with a thick tan head that lasts. Aroma is roasted malt, caramel and some smoke. Taste is very smooth throughout with a mild roastiness and hints of chocolate in the malt. Palate is a creamy texture with a well balanced finish. I enjoyed this one.
