Draught @ Svejken. Pours amber with a big and creamy white head. The aroma is quite hoppy - in a flowery way - and there is also notes of ryebread and metal. The taste has got a semi-sweet maltprofile which reminds me of a syrupy sweetened ryebread. Lots of herbal hops in the finish. Long and bitter aftertaste. Very refreshing.

Wonderful find at ’only rare beers’ in Budapest. This is an interesitng one, and makes me feel like I’m starting to get a feel for where the great continental lagers can be unique and tasty. Slight sweet funk on the nose, apples, clementines, yeast, lovely. Full washing flavor of citrusy hops and spring fresh flowers. Profoundly tasty, interesting and surprising. Absolutely lager can be done well, this is so much fun and could drink many to boot.

Best before Dec 2010. Very fresh. Lacing sticks to the glass, really long lasting head, more than just a little ring. Bronze, deep yellow gold... Oh this smell! Flowers, subtle herbs (tarragon?), pencil shavings, delicate and just fantastic. The taste is almost a perfect bitterness, deep and abiding, long lasting, with just enough of a bready sugar content to balance things. A near to excellent beer.

On tap at Soldaten Svejk in Stockholm. Golden with a nice, white head. Grassy and crispy aroma. Very drinkable with a pleasant mouth feel. Grass, malt and some citrus. Nice bitterness.

UPDATED: SEP 8, 2010 Draught at Svijansky Rytir in Prague. Clear, deep gold, with a tall, fine, pillowy head. Aroma of grassy hops and pine. Clean, clear, bitter flavors of pine, grass. Great hops: herbal, touching the medicinal, with grapefruit and a touch of mint. Very crisp and hoppy, with a really long burn. Fun. A bit over the top on hops, but great.
