COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Švyturys White (5%) is a wheat Hefeweizen beer, member of the traditional Švyturys collection. It is defined by a refreshing taste and flavour that resembles a bouquet of cloves, bananas, plums, orange peel and exotic fruit. This non-filtered, cloudy beer with its peculiar taste and exceptional flavour should be served with a slice of lemon in a special pre-chilled glass. A wheat beer glass quite sharply flared at the top to look a bit like an hourglass, designed so as to perfectly reveal the flavour of this exclusive beer. Beer White perfectly complements fish, seafood, soft cheese, and light fruit desserts.

One of the most excellent beers I had. There is just one which was better. in my opinion. I had it in Germany in Oberwolfach.

My experience with eastern europe beers hasn’t been spectacular. I’m not sure if it’s distance or they just suck but I was pleasantly surprised by this beer. It is a cloudy wheat beer but I found it nice balanced and quite refreshing. Obvious clove and banana with a nice wheaty backbone. Nice, large bottles.

Fat @ restaurant Amatininkai, Vilnius. Citrongul öl med livligt vitt skum. I doften regerar citronen, men också en viss pepprighet hittas. Smaken är något tunn för ett högre betyg, men citrusen i kombination med örter och gräs är ändå fräsch.

Into a weizen glass. Two fingers of head, nice retention. Lots of bubbles in the hazy, dark straw colored body. Great smell of lemon, orange zest, banana and grapefruit. Nice fizzy texture, a dry and mild bitter taste. Pleasant and simple. Light to medium body, moderate carbonation. An excellent wit.

UPDATED: DEC 8, 2012 Golden cloudy pour with a frothy white head. Aroma: wheat, orange, banana skin, hops and pepper. I find this extremely peppery. Starts off crisp and tart/sweet like a good white should but the pepper takes over. Im not sure if i got a bad bottle but i actually can’t finish this.

Bottle 50cl, a cloudy yellow beer with medium head. Nose is very fruity on over roped apple, banana, near a weizen bock nose. Aroma is dry, with wheat notes, watery, banana dominant, lot of phenols, not too bad but too dry.

Tasted so far only draught (in Vilnius). Aroma of citrus as should be with witbier and not only because of the slice of lemon added hanging on the glass. It could be very refreshing during hot summer.

500ml bottle. Bright golden and cloudy with a massive white head and lots of tiny bubbles floating around. Aroma is on the sweet side and very yeasty. Taste is full of bananas and lemons, with high acidity. Faint hops at the end. Mouthfeel is a little puckering and very lively. Light body. Kind of easy to drink.

Pours from the 16.9 oz. bottle a very cloudy, opaque yellowish color with a bright white, rocky 2 finger + head that settles down by half. It’s totally impossible to detect any carbonation in the thick cloudiness. Aroma is a beautiful banana scent with perhaps a hint of lemon/orange peel. 1st sip brings a nice soft flavor of banana, citrus, doughy yeast, a hint of peppery spice. The mouthfeel is very lively and prickly from all that carbonation that was hidden in the haze. The flavors are kind of subdued, if they were a tad more bold and assertive this would be an excellent beer. Overall, it’s still very good, a nice surprising pickup.

Bottle. Cloudy yellow pour with a nice white head. Aroma is coriander, wheat, and a bit of banana. Some carbonation, but comes off just a touch flat. Slight amounts of sour notes as well. Decent.
