Tradicinė kolekcija
Baltijos is the oldest brand of Lithuanian beer, and is the oldest brand of beer produced by the brewery Svyturys, since 1965. Baltijos, which is strong beer of dark amber colour, stands out with brownish and particularly thick foam, rich and sweetish taste of caramel, which is felt in the mouth for a long period of time. Baltijos won the bronze award at the World Beer Cup in the category of German-style Märzen/Oktoberfest.

Drank from a glass, poured from a bottle, this beer was medium brown in the glass with a hint of red, there was some haze to this drink, and it gave a one finger light tan bubbled cover that had a faint yellow hue to them, it left nice spots and fingers of lacing on the glass, the aromas were toasted malt, caramel, some earth notes, a little toasted bread, a bit of grain, bread and brown sugar sweetness, there was very little hops, it had flavors of toasted malt, caramel, toasted bread, toasted bread and brown sugar sweetness, there was a mild citrus like bitterness (from the hops), lots of malt and sweetness followed, the mouth feel was almost medium, it was a little creamy, there was soft to average carbonation, the nose and flavor was a bit out of place from the standard American Marzen beer but still a good drink, the label does read that the beer is made with caramel malt and that is evident with the nose and flavor of this beer, this beer had more sweetness than your usual Marzen drink.

Bottle. Pours a clear reddish body with a one finger foamy beige head that left some light sticky lace. The nose is husky and toasted malt with a heavy caramel sweetness. The flavor is a bit flat and boring, some bland caramel and brown sugar sweetness, and not a whole lot more. Medium bodied with a slight clinginess and minimal carbonation. This was probably the weakest of the 4 beers from this brewery that I tried.

Baltijos has a thick, off-white head, an initially clear, rust-red appearance, with lots of bubbles and minimal lacing. The beer clouds up, when the bottom sediment is swished loose and poured in. Aroma is of sweet, brown bread crust, and the flavor is of sweet, syrupy, bready malts, with low-level hop bitterness. Mouthfeel is high medium, and Balitjos finishes crisp and drinkable. RJT

Can from the Polish Delicatessen opposite The Barum Top Inn, Halifax. Dark clear copper with next to no head. Malty, sweet, fairly rich in this respect with its strength evident.

It’s a beer. I drank it. I regret that. Not impressed. On the bright side, Germany won.

Mid range beer. Like penalty shoot outs again Buffon! They go in but he still touches the ball. Was good luck but needed, could taste better but fulfils the need!

Fast dissapearing head. Clearly dark brown like ted colour. Ara is poor like extract. Taste caramel but not from barley it seems it make with caramel extract not really malt.

Baltijos has a descriptive label identifying this beer as a Dark Red Marzen Oktoberfest. Got the appearance correct, but a synthetic caramel syrup flavor and flat carbonation make it Macro unFabulous.

F: thin, off-white. C: dark brown-red, clear. A: caramel, malt, fruity, cherries. T: caramel, malty, fruity, medium full body, lower carbonation, may be too boring but for me enjoyed, 0,5l bottle in shopping centre Serfontana in Morbio Inferiore in Switzerland.
