---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Clear red with a thick cream-coloured head. Caramel, raisins, sweet and oxidized aroma, overly sweet taste and a little alcoholic. Syrupy, medium-bodied, too smooth.

500ml bottle from Beers of Europe. Clear copper amber colour, off-white foam head that leaves alittle lacing and aroma of malt caramel, toffee, fruity. Taste is sweet malty with caramel, toffee, dark fruit notes. Smooth mouthfeel, medium bodied, medium carbonation, crisp dry biscuity bitter finish. Quite OK.

Bottle at AmCham reception in DC. Definitely better than the Pilsnener. Dark amber body with big head. Nose of malts, caramel, some hops too. Nice toasty flavour with some floral notes. Bitter in the finish. Pretty good.

Bottle shared with McTapps. Nice one with a bit caramel and malt in the aroma. Not a rocket but still quite drinkable.

Clear deep brown-amber colour with low steady head and medium to smooth body. Nose of malt and nuts. Taste of spicy malt, ripe hops, dark grains, brown bread, joghurt and nuts. Easy to drink with a light fruity and fresh finish. Better than expected.

Bottle shared with MichaelBruch, bought in Mix Markt, Bochum. Light ruby-red in colour with low head. Nose of malt and red apples. Taste of very mild hops, low malt, hazelnuts and dark roasted grains. Seems a little bit like a Bock, but goes down easily.

Bottle. Pours dark amber with thick off-white head. Aroma has bready caramel notes, bright fruitiness. Mouthfeel is full, quite thick. Flavor is simple, but very good - hearty bread (a little rye?) balanced with mildly floral hop flavors. Some minor hop bitterness lingering into the aftertaste. Somewhat distinct from a marzen - a bit crisper and drier with less sharpness than typical of the style.

The smell is a little metallic but the flavor is very smooth and sugary. A little hint of dark fruit and caramel
