Cask-conditioned at the Commercial Rooms, Bristol, November 2012. Deep copper in colour with a tight, off-white head. Sweet, berry fruits, powdered chocolate and toffee, leading to a yeasty, bitter finish. Ok.
2.3 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 Finn (3090) - Tromsø, NORWAY - JAN 3, 2013

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 tombyars (1204) - Saltcoats, SCOTLAND - NOV 19, 2012
Tasted this in the Salt Cot, Saltcoats (JDW) in November 2012. Cask, handpump dispense. Clear copper red in colour with a thin white head. Very slight note of chewy caramel in the short nose. Thin but creamy mouthfeel and good lacing throughout. Mixed malt base leads to a maltloaf flavour laced with syrupy dates and soft creamy caramel really evident here. This reminds me of a strong version of Caley 80/? definte notes of Scottish export in this. Slight porickle of dusty hop resins present but short in intensity though. Finish is very malty with toffee/butterscotch sweetness coming through in the mouth. This is a really easy session ESB to drink but beware of the ABV though. Well recommended.
2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 DruncanVeasey (6114) - NUNEATON, Blue Square Premier, Warwickshire, ENGLAND - NOV 14, 2012
Cask handpull, The Felix (JDW), Nuneaton, 13/11/12. Soggy, pleasant, cake-like red-bronze affair speckled with lace. Berries, caramel, some red apple aroma. That dank aniseed and toffee hit again. OK but leaning too close to GK/Bateman’s territory and not worth the units.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 yespr (25947) - Copenhagen O, DENMARK - NOV 11, 2012
From cask at Camperdown Place. Pours clear and golden deep amber with a small, creamy off white head. Aroma is roasted malty and light breadish. Sweet, caramelish, toasted and light fruity. Sweet malty and light breadish finish. A bit too sweet and simple for my liking.
