Baltijos is the oldest brand of Lithuanian beer, and is the oldest brand of beer produced by the brewery Svyturys, since 1965. Baltijos, which is strong beer of dark amber colour, stands out with brownish and particularly thick foam, rich and sweetish taste of caramel, which is felt in the mouth for a long period of time. Baltijos won the bronze award at the World Beer Cup in the category of German-style Märzen/Oktoberfest.

Appearance is the only good thing of this beer. Aroma is a light malt. Taste is corn... cheap corn malt, that’s Carlsberg’s trademark. And caramel, corn and caramel. Cheat beer.

Bottle. Sweet caramel and dark fruit aroma. Pours a cloudy brown with small brown head and little carbonation. Rich caramel flavour. Syrupy texture with more sweetness in the finish. OK.

Bottle 50cl. Clear dark amber, large frothy beige head, mostly diminishing, good lacing; sweet malty nose, caramel, brown sugar, bit roasty; taste light heavy sweet, slightly bitter, malty, bit sugary; medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation, lingering sweetness and roasted malts plus a bit more bitter in the aftertaste; decent Vienna.

50 cl bottle @ home. Pours clear reddish amber with a white head that leaves a little lacing. Aroma and flavour are caramel, malt, and a little metal - with a slightly dry finish.

Clear dark amber, thick offwhite froth. Sweet malt aroma. Caramel and syrup flavour with negligible bitterness. Too much bland caramel, nothing to balance. Blah...

50 cl bottle@home in lager glass@approx 6 degrees C. Pours dark amber with sufficient beige head with short retention. Aroma of malt and caramel. Taste metallic sweet with caramel malt dominating and hardly any hops and this continues in the aftertaste. OK mouthfeel but rather warery texture with soft carbonation. Not my cup of tea at all..

Couleur ambrée, très légère mousse beige. Nez caramalt, note caramel cuit. Gout caramel sucré un peu cremeux... malt, houblon et note de pain en fin de bouche. Meilleure que ce a quoi je m’attendais, bien pour le style.
