EKSTRA DRAUGHT is the first non-pasteurised beer pioneering the draught beer segment in Lithuania. This supreme premium beer of 5.2% alcohol volume is produced under a unique technology, which allows it to be produced without pasteurisation and is bottled in exceptionally designed unique bottles which preserve the flavour that could previously be enjoyed only in pubs. Therefore, mild in its flavour, this beer is easily drinkable.

Bottle at home in London with Lyoli. Pours clear, pale yellow with a weak , white foam head. Lots of cereal on the nose. Medium sweet flavor, more cereal, some hay, grains. Light bodied with fine to average carbonation. Fairly sweet to finish, almost no bitterness, more cereal, some grainy bread, light dough. Very drinkable pale lager.

0.5 l bottle from Vilnius airport. Too close to making love in a canoe, although tastes a bit better than the pasteurised Extra. Nice bottle though.

500ml Bottle (£1.59, Eastern European Foods, Glasgow):
Corn & light, cheap lager malts along with a slightly skunky aroma and some lingering sweet malts. There is a touch of grass hops in there as well.
Light, golden amber colour with a tiny, white head that quickly turns to a patchy lacing.
Sweet, tangy hops and again some light malts that are relatively sweet in flavour. There is some corn, bread and a general, cheap lager taste.
Light & quite smooth with a slightly spicy tang and moderate carbonation coupled with a light bitter finish.

Another below average beer and nothing more than a cheap, industrial produced pale lager that doesn’t do enough to hold your attention or keep you interested past the first sip.

We organized a very interesting tasting of Lagers (basic to average quality): 16 different beers from different countries. Price range: from EUR 0.3/bt (supermarket) to EUR 3.5/bt (take-away at sushi bar). All beers have been blind-tasted; we were 4 people, great beer lovers and wanted to know If there is a difference between all these basics summer beers. Answer: no, all were more our less watery, the worst were shit. Svyturys Ekstra Draught was not too bad (fourth best one) Here is the ranking: #1 Sapporo Yebisu #2 Baltika 3 #3 Duff #4 Obolon Svitle #5 Svyturys Ekstra Draught #6 Heineken #7 Kirin Ichiban #8 1664 #9 Carlsberg #10 Burger #11 Kronenbourg #12 Pilsner Urquell #13 Königsbacher #14 33 Export #15 Tsingtao #16 Asahi
