Svyturys Ekstra

Bottle. White high an good looking head. Clear light yellow body. Again this "muddy water" aroma which I cannot quite describe but do not like. Sweet yet dry hops flavor and a dry aftertaste I do not quite like.

My bottle didnt say Ekstra- but just 5.2%. Pours a clear medium to light gold with a nice white head, fades a bit but leaves a film. Aroma is bready malts, but has a slight skunked hop aroma. Bready malts along with some herbal and spicy hops and a slight metallic finish. High carbonation detracts from the flavors and mouthfeel.

Bottle. Golden colour with a white head. Aroma is fruity malt. Flavour is fruity malt with green apple.

Pour is a very clear yellow with a white head. Aroma is a lager non-existant. Flavor is not totaly crap. A very sweet grain and hop. Nothing to blow you away mind you but still decent for a eastern euro lager and the price is decent as well at only a bit over a dollar for a 500ml.

Bottle. Yellow colour with a medium frothy mostly diminishing white head. Aroma of malts and hops. Not a good one.

Taster at Binny’s, Orland Park. So the post Soviet beer invasion continues. First thing I noticed here was an odd cracker smell. Reuglar lager color and head after that. Taste? Kind of grainy and corny. Just ordinary imported dollar bottle of beer.

Pours a hazy golden with a foamy head that leaves some serious residue (almost as bad as Guinness residue!), but the taste isn’t too bad. A little bitter and malty, but nothing really stands out. Leaves a slight metallic aftertaste, but again, nothing too bad.

Decent light yellow beer, not skunked, crisp, slight hops, but no real outstanding feature.
