Slick (1962), Thief River Falls, Minnesota, USA Oct 27, 2005 Explosive carbonation on this bottle,Cloudy golden color, large white head that faded slowly then faded to a nice lace.Grainy aroma with some hints of fruit and also coming off as being a little sweet. The flavor is nothing special though a bit medicinal in the beginning lots of carbonation giving it a slight acidic feel on the pallate. The taste is kind of grainy with some hops coming on in the end and a mild bitterness. Not something i’d care to try again,in fact i think the Baltas was better, because this one is getting sickening fast.Just plain Yuck. austinpowers (2828), New York, New York, USA Oct 27, 2005 Ho-hum. Although I like Lithuanian beers quite a bit (truly!), this tasted somewhat metallic and yeasty in an odd way. Straw-colored and tasting sort of Eastern European-weird. I probably shouldn’t be surprised that I could taste a hint of alcohol in this brew. I’m sort of used to that from brews that are of lesser quality. JonMoore (1561), Loughborough, Leicestershire, England Oct 10, 2005 Bottle. Light straw coloured with a thick white head. Aroma has grain, some sweetness and not much else. Something a bit disturbing about the taste; sweet, some light bitterness, a bit sour in the finish, but it doesn’t feel good in the mouthfeel department. Those experts at the World Beer Cup, may not - gasp, horror - be experts at all! KnutAlbert (3108), Oslo, Norway Sep 27, 2005 This seems to be very variable from batch to batch. When I first tried it, it had a pronounced smoky flavour, which was hardly present a month later. Not much hopped, so the skoke aroma worked well in balancing the malt. But they can obviously do more to make a stable product. frankenkitty (1900), Oak Lawn, Illinois, USA Sep 24, 2005 I started a review of this one back in March and then forgot about it. It’s kind of easy to see why. Poured a very light yellow with a smallish white head that diminished entirely. Aromas were dry with some burnt grain and grass. Flavor was lightly bitter with some sourness late and a clean, crisp finish (I wrote down the word "snappy", but I don’t know what that means). Better than average, but only slightly.

willblake (2160), Belcamp, Maryland, USA Sep 2, 2005 09.02.05 500ml bottle. Just hazed pale straw with thin but lasting head of odd little foamy clumps. I can hardly smell anything except for a distant vague aroma of sweet grains. Flavor is also hardly detectable except for a grassy metallic tang. If the goal was to produce a palyer in the world of flavorless beer, this one can compete with Michelob Ultra. I can’t believe how highly this beer is rated. Nonsense. Jukkabro (2981), Tampere, Finland Sep 2, 2005 Light yellow color, no head. Sweet, mildly skunky Eastern Europe aroma. Medium bodied. Crispy, sweet flavor, ends with medium hops. Flavor has some fruits too. Hops make ending dry, dryness lasts. yngwie (4880), Kristiansand, Norway Aug 30, 2005 Updated: Aug 17, 2006Bottle. Svyturys Extra poures a light yellow colour that is a little cloudy. Aroma of light malts, wheat, citrus and banana. The taste is more sweet and sour than bitter, with the same elements as in the aroma. Not a very good beer, but absolutely drinkable, especially in the summertime, as it is refreshing. (050830)
