Svyturys Ekstra

extremely pale yellow, fluffy white head, quite lacy. nose is strongly corn syrupy. flavor is sweet sweet corn syrup (must be the ekstra). cloyingly sweet finish, oily mouth feel. pretty dreadful, not worth a repeat. single bottle from binnys beverage depot in orland park. thank goodness it is cheap enough to want me to kick it up a point or two.

Light yellow, with quickly diseappering head. Not really foamy, so it does not match the BJCP definition of a Munich Helles or Dortmunter Export. Malty aroma. Sour salty(!) flavour. Somer power, and well balanced with hop. No obvious alcohol in the equation. Thin-medium body. To thick to be refreshing. I’m not well versed in german style beers, and I could not classify this according to BJCP. However, since it is not overly sweet with some hop, I would guess this is a Munich helles. Not very interesting. Purchased in Krakow.

Clear medium yellow color with a average to large, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, white to off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, gain, toasted, sour malt, paper, cardboard, rubber. Flavor is moderate sweet, light bitter and sour with a average duration. Body is light to medium, texture is watery, carbonation is soft. [20090122]

500 mL Bottle. Pale straw body with a frothy white head that settles to a thin but tenacious foamy film that laces the sides of the glass generously. Aroma is malt, grains, and grassy hops with an earthy note and a sharpness about it. Sweet malt with a syrupy undertone dominates in the flavor with a sweet nutty aftertaste that lingers a bit in the finish. This is good beer.

500ml bottle. A nice surprise this one. Golden and clear with two fingers of white fluffy foam with both large and small bubbles. Mildly carbonated with a sweet tinged aroma of hops and malt. The head settles to a nice layer of foam amnd the taste is sweet and crisp and clean on the palate. Feels smooth in the mouth but has a slightly soapy aftertaste.

Drank many Baltic Bev beers recently and they all have the same basic taste: spiceness, medium body, slight hoppy aroma, The claim made for "crystal clear" is false. It is cloudy - period. Perhaps this is because the back label deciphers January 31, 2009, which may indicate it is past its prime date but I do not find that convincing. It does have a hop aroma but not "deep." The palate has a barely detectable malt sweetness.that is quickly overwhelmed by the resinous hops. It is fuller than most "gerneric" American lagers but not something I find adaptable to a hot summer day when I find lagers particularly appealing.

Clean, crisp, refreshing, and almost exactly like any other pale lager, but it does have a significant body and spiciness. Golden in color, a bright floral aroma.

I really digged Svyturys Wheat.but was expecting a glass of petrol despite that with this Svyturys Ekstra. it is Pretty ok. Malty,doughy and thick sweetly honeyed.Nice chewiness is there.Late grassy hop tangz.Not bad man.
