bhensonb (2728), Woodland, California, USA May 9, 2008 500 ml bottle from Total Wine in Roseville. Strange scent of veg? Brassy golden color with a white head that came and left. Medium body with coarse, but creamy carbonation. Flavor is malt, herb? and a strong amount of bitter for a pale lager. Must be a mysterious version of noble hop - herb/veg. The bitter builds with time, and that tends to salvage what otherwise would be just another Euro pale lager. This one is worth the drinking to see where hop and balance can go. Rather clean, almost crisp. The flavor improves with consumption. At half bottle, it’s really fairly tasty.
KimJohansen (2460), Copenhagen V, Denmark Jul 22, 2008 Bottle. Clear golden with medium white head. Sweet and grainy with malty and caramel notes. greenmanalishi (177), Leicestershire, England Jul 11, 2008 hops, grass, straw, grain a little sticky and pale but better than most of it’s competitors Skidds (127), Ottawa, Ontario, Canada Jul 9, 2008 Another decent Baltic beer. Hoppy, dry taste with hints of malt. A decent brew. Reminds me a Saku from Estonia. EFC1878 (37), Manchester, England Jul 7, 2008 Pours from the bottle a gorgeous pale gold colour with a perfect white head. Malt aroma with the alcohol also coming through. Good body and mouth feel - slight graininess helps. Crisp finish makes this possibly the ideal summer beer. Not the greatest beer by any stretch but, taken for what it is, there’s a lot to recommend it. Each to his/her own but I can’t understand the consistent low ratings for this way above average beer. Shannon127 (10), USA Jul 3, 2008 This is a fairly good pale lager, if that is what you like. That is not my favorite style, so I will try to be objective. It is a very light beer by European standards, but much fuller than Miller or Bud. It is not nearly as hoppy as the pilseners. This would make a great picnic beer.
