2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 MilkmanDan (1943) - Eagan, Minnesota, USA - AUG 15, 2004
A decent Eurolager. Clear cider-gold with little head. Nose sweet, a bit malty, adjuncty. Flavor is quite sweet, malts are corny, limited hops. Not offensive and reasonably refreshing, but nothing particularly fascinating going on.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 MrManning (1942) - London, Ontario, CANADA - MAR 17, 2004
UPDATED: AUG 30, 2006 Someething about this beer was weird. it poured a very thick head that actually had chunks in it, and they floated around in my glass. I thought it was supposed to be like this??? Aort of herbaly aroma matched with an herbaly taste, with some hops. Slightly bitter taste, but it was also very pungent, and tasted like beer gone horribly horribly wrong. Re rate- This is now one of my favuirite lagers. It’s got a great hop floral profile, with great malt balance. My first rating was obviously a bad bottle.

500 ml bottle from LCBO, served cold in a Weizen glass. JN17/08.[br/][br/]
App.: Clear bright golden with a nice white meringue.
Aroma: Corn, cereal, grain, light grassy hops, metallic, very light apple juice.
Palate: Medium body and carbonation.
Flav.: More than the nose, nice light malts, again some cereal and grain, light grassy hops, some apple and pome fruit off-dry with some bitterness, fruity finish.[br/][br/]
The flavour was a pleasant surprise – quite like a Pils to me, minus the Saaz hops.

Bottle. Pours clear and light yellow with a moderate white head that diminishes mostly to a thin ring of bubbles around the rim. Sweet aroma, slightly soapy as is characteristic of many lagers, with a bit of hops present as well. Flavor is adjuncty sweet, smooth and drinkable with a light hop finish and a sweet aftertaste. Light body and mild carbonation. Don’t you love the translation of this commercial description???
