Bottle shared late night in the hotel lobby during RBWG 2015. Pours Clear amber with a bubbly tan head. Pungent caramel and vanilla on the nose. Big sweet flavor with more caramel, tannic dryness, brown sugar. Full bodied, chewy, with fine carbonation. Warm and sticky on the finish, caramel, toasted grains. Not bad.

Bottle - Sweet caramel an bourbon notes. Cloudy copper with a small beige head. Caramel, bourbon, cherry and Woody booze. I think a bit more age would be better.

Tasted during RBWG post-grand tasting shit-show hotel-tasting. Hazy red orange amber color. Thin ring of head. Bigger body. Smooth, kind of crisp lighter carbonation. Caramel malt, dark fruit. Moderate to bigger sweet taste, light to moderate bitter. Some heat. Quite some heat, actually. Drinks like 14%+. I wonder what the actual ABV of this is. I’d respect it more if I knew this was 16% or so. But definitely some heat here, without a tangible reason.

Brown pour with ruby hints and clinging tan head and lace. Aroma is brown sugar, dried fruit (raisins). Flavor is raisins, sweet malt, and a nice abv warmth. Medium bodied with good carbonation. solid BW JCW

(old rating) Brown, hazy beer, beige head. Aroma of vanilla, cedar wood, bourbon, caramel, a bit "grassy". Sweet caramel and vanilla, wood, alcohol. It’s good, but lacks a bit complexity.

Bottle... Pours clear and dark copper with a small, creamy, white head. The bouquet is a luxuriant intermingling of vanilla, caramel, toffee and bourbon. Medium to full-bodied with a thin mouthfeel and laid-back carbonation. The flavor is of sweet caramel and bourbon up front, then tannic bitterness on the backside. Finishes hearty and bitter-sweet.

Bottle, 01/12/2014. Pours transparent ruby brown, medium white head fading within a minute or so to an island of fizz on the surface, dense medium ring of lacing around the glass. Aroma is syrupy fruity dark malts, caramel and pecan, really pie-like, undercurrent of vanilla with crisp piney hops, buttery bourbon. Taste is creamy caramel, nutty toffee mixed in with hint of chocolate, vanilla bourbon, big bitter finish with hops and booze. Thick body, chewy. Pretty tasty for sure.
