Smell resembles cat food, kind of fishy/grainy. Slightly sweet but really strong hop presence that clashes unfavorably with the cat food taste. Just not good at all, on tap at the brewery.

From notes. Enjoyed at a tasting at Andrewís house on August 18. 750 mL bottle, 2011 vintage. The pour is more of an orangey amber color with a thick light tan head that fades slowly, leaving a few spots of lace. The aroma is hoppy as hell. Shit. There is a lot of malt and caramel backing it up, but I couldnít believe that hops held up this well. There is a hint of brown sugar and a little oxidization. A light nuttiness is picked up on the back end. The flavor is very similar. Once you survive and assimilate to the hop blast, youíre fine. Lots of caramel malts and dark fruits mesh well with a stronger nuttiness and a dark fruit that lingers. The alcohol is a little more detectable on the finish. The mouth feel is lighter and very well carbonated. The aftertaste is sweet, fruity, nutty, and hoppy, all rolled into one. Itís really interesting. I like it.

Bottle in Glenwood Springs with friends, courtesy of Aaron. Thanks Man! Pour is hazy orange with a small tan head and decent lacing. Big raisin, slightly oxidized, brown sugar, roasted caramel, dates, a hint of cardboard, and dough in the aroma. Taste is caramel, a touch of oxidation, figs, somewhat twangy, earthy, and nutty with a hint of heat on the backend. Slick mouthfeel with soft carbonation. Pretty good.

750ml bottle. At this point donít really get pecans, jsut soy, heavy sherry, oxidized cardboard, and spice. Itís gone well downhill.

Bottle provided by Hopscotch. Thanks bro! The beer pours deep amber with a creamy beige head. The aroma is high malty and nutty with sweet cookie notes. Huge malty flavor with notes of nuts, brown sugar, alcohol and dark fruits. Sweet hoppy and ripe berries. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Clear red with an off-white head. Aroma is honey, quince, brown sugar, hint of marzipan. Sticky mouthfeel, full bodied, sweet on the palate with a hint of balancing bitterness. Taste is honey, brown sugar, spruce, quince jelly, citrus oil, touch of booze. Nice.

Bottle thanks to a trade! Pours a hazy deep amber brown with a tan head that lasts throughout the beer and laces slightly. Aroma has a good amount of deep grains with a bit of backing pecan and a touch of pine hops. Flavor has lots of grains with a bit of booze and just an underlying note of pecan.

Aroma: sweet, lots of malt, faint nuttiness, chocolate, caramel. Appearance: murky dark amber/brown color, off white head. Taste: chewy malt, cocoa, caramel, sweet, some booze. Palate: full body, low-med carbonation. Overall: interesting, glad to try it.

Appearance: Murky browns under a bubbly splotchy head that swirls solid and creamy with lovely lace that lingers and lines the glass from first quaff to last.
Nose: Woodsy and rustic. Dry brittle nuts Ė almonds and pecans Ė stale but in a good way. Nutmeg. Dry pine needles and pine tree bark. The nutty tannic stones of dates and prunes. Grape skins and grape seeds. Pureed whole apples, skins included.
Palate: Very dry which gives the body an impression of thinness despite the richness of flavors Ė very well attenuated. Majority of the flavors hit in the back and linger long after each quaff. Generic rustic bitterness leads into dried hop cones, brittle twigs and sticks, plum and apple and grape skins. Astringent. Faint juicy fleshiness in the middle of fruits noted above.
Final Thoughts: Intriguing, interesting, and quite enjoyable actually. Iím not a nature gal and camping isnít my thing, but this beer truly brought to life the very essence of being outdoors. From the forest to the orchards, it was nature personified with an American twist thanks to the addition of pecans. A wonderful collaboration from two wonderful Florida craft breweries.

Pours a murky brown with beige head that leaves a low-medium lacing. Aroma is malty, caramel, toffee, little nuttyness. Taste starts with lots of caramel, toffee, rich malts, a bit of nuts, dry fruits, lignt unwanted tartness. Full body with medium to low carbonation. Drinkability is ok but as i am going trough this bottle, the alcohol matched with the tartness brings a wierd sensation that makes it harder to drink. barnyard,
