1.4 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 3/20
Smell resembles cat food, kind of fishy/grainy. Slightly sweet but really strong hop presence that clashes unfavorably with the cat food taste. Just not good at all, on tap at the brewery.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle in Glenwood Springs with friends, courtesy of Aaron. Thanks Man! Pour is hazy orange with a small tan head and decent lacing. Big raisin, slightly oxidized, brown sugar, roasted caramel, dates, a hint of cardboard, and dough in the aroma. Taste is caramel, a touch of oxidation, figs, somewhat twangy, earthy, and nutty with a hint of heat on the backend. Slick mouthfeel with soft carbonation. Pretty good.

2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
750ml bottle. At this point don’t really get pecans, jsut soy, heavy sherry, oxidized cardboard, and spice. It’s gone well downhill.

Bottle provided by Hopscotch. Thanks bro! The beer pours deep amber with a creamy beige head. The aroma is high malty and nutty with sweet cookie notes. Huge malty flavor with notes of nuts, brown sugar, alcohol and dark fruits. Sweet hoppy and ripe berries.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle thanks to a trade! Pours a hazy deep amber brown with a tan head that lasts throughout the beer and laces slightly. Aroma has a good amount of deep grains with a bit of backing pecan and a touch of pine hops. Flavor has lots of grains with a bit of booze and just an underlying note of pecan.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Murky browns under a bubbly splotchy head that swirls solid and creamy with lovely lace that lingers and lines the glass from first quaff to last.
Woodsy and rustic. Dry brittle nuts – almonds and pecans – stale but in a good way. Nutmeg. Dry pine needles and pine tree bark. The nutty tannic stones of dates and prunes. Grape skins and grape seeds. Pureed whole apples, skins included.
Very dry which gives the body an impression of thinness despite the richness of flavors – very well attenuated. Majority of the flavors hit in the back and linger long after each quaff. Generic rustic bitterness leads into dried hop cones, brittle twigs and sticks, plum and apple and grape skins. Astringent. Faint juicy fleshiness in the middle of fruits noted above.
Intriguing, interesting, and quite enjoyable actually. I’m not a nature gal and camping isn’t my thing, but this beer truly brought to life the very essence of being outdoors. From the forest to the orchards, it was nature personified with an American twist thanks to the addition of pecans. A wonderful collaboration from two wonderful Florida craft breweries.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a murky brown with beige head that leaves a low-medium lacing. Aroma is malty, caramel, toffee, little nuttyness. Taste starts with lots of caramel, toffee, rich malts, a bit of nuts, dry fruits, lignt unwanted tartness. Full body with medium to low carbonation. Drinkability is ok but as i am going trough this bottle, the alcohol matched with the tartness brings a wierd sensation that makes it harder to drink. barnyard,

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Nov 2011 750 ml bottle date poured Mar 2013. Pours a very deep dark red with a nutty and creamy looking light kahki head. Aroma is huge caramel malt, nuts, honey, pine. Smells very rich. Dry nut flavor up front that fades into sweet malt. Slight bitterness with lingering candy apple flavors. Fades into a nutty aftertaste. Hops were probably present when this was fresh, but are pretty subdued now. Sweet balanced with bitter rather well. Not a bad barleywine. A nice tick, too. But tough finishing more than 12 oz.
