COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our limited release Imperial IPA is all about excess. We use massive quantities of the finest European barley malts and American hops to produce a wonderfully malty beer with outrageous hop expression. From the initial aroma, through the balanced finish and the lingering hop flavors that coat your palette, 10-10-10 is truly fertilizer for the hop lover’s soul!

So much flavor. Excellent balance of hoppy bitterness and sweet malt. Tastes almost chocolaty, but very complex.

Dark orange and very little head. Floral, earthy, cooked vegetables. Though this IPA is balanced at first, it is dry and astringent later. Loads of flavour but not delcate in any way. Pretty good if you’re into it. (On tab in Stubbies)

Beerlando (3342) - Orlando, Florida, USA - SEP 29, 2010
Draft at Redlight Redlight. Pours a dark, lightly hazy, golden-amber hue with a small, swirly, off-white head. Trace spots of lacing are scattered about the glass. The nose is far too saccharine for a double IPA, loaded with sweet caramel, dessert bread, and sugared, slightly stale cereal grain malts that collectively outpace a weak, muddled, floral and citrus hop contingent. Notes of orange rind and grass peek out here and there, but just can’t overcome the malt avalanche. Flavors follow suit, showing far too sweet and malty, laden with hefty caramel, biscuit, and cookie malts. Grassy-citrus hop bitterness seems old and tattered, tired from fighting the intense sugars. Somehow, despite the massive malt billing, this stuff manages a relatively weak palate, showing considerably more watery than one would expect. Carbonation is on the light side, lending a bit of a lifeless feel. Alcohol burns on the finish. This one isn’t impressive in the least bit.

Draft. Pours golden with a thick white head. Flavor is big piney and grapefruit hops. Enjoyable DIPA.

Lubiere (10654) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - JUN 18, 2010
A clear golden amber IPA with a thin white head. Another meaty and floral hops aroma, with some nice muskey notes, almost sexual. In mouth, an intense malt with nicely balanced floral hops, oily resins, quite nice and classic, warming alcohol, just right. On tap at Cigar City, May 22 2010.

hopscotch (9847) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - MAY 26, 2010
Draft... Mildly hazed, light amber ale with a mid-sized, creamy – yet fat-bubbled – white head. Fantastic retention. The aromatics are heavy with peppery hops, grapefruit, peach, pine and resin. Full-bodied and creamy with moderate carbonation. The flavor is nothing but hop and alcohol bitterness and astringency. Assertive, aggressive and nearly offensive. Where’s the malt? Finishes liquor-like, harsh and bone dry.

GT2 (8998) - San Diego County, California, USA - APR 26, 2010
On tap at Kickbacks. Pours a clear light amber with a decent white head. Okay retention and little to no lace. Aroma on this is very funky- almost like unblended lambic (I shit you not). There are some geuze notes in here of horse, sour fruits. Taste is just full on hop bitterness, wheat, herbal medicines, some sickly sweet malt. And then background geuze notes. Maybe an infection in this batch? Could be the beginnings of something very good- an IPA lambic (!!).

HOPSHUNTER (742) - Tampa, Florida, USA - APR 24, 2010
Tap @ CCB. Pours a clear golden orange with a tall egg shell head. Nose is fairly balanced between the slightly more forward citric, piney hop notes and the caramel and pale malt notes. Medium to full body with good carbonation and a slightly sticky mouth feel. Flavor starts with a good amount of sweet caramel malt before opening up some nice piney, spicy hop notes, light grass and honey are also present. Finishes with moderate hop bitterness. Solid.

Rciesla (5499) - Exit 15W, New Jersey, USA - APR 13, 2010
Very nice ipa. Pours a copper and honey shaded body with a mild white head. Citrus and tangerines give way to a green grassy hop tone, a mild tea note. A bit brash with a strong hop oily finish, very nice.

Ibrew2or3 (7232) - Tempe, Arizona, USA - MAR 30, 2010
On tap on cask at the ‘010 FL Brewer’s Ball. Pours up copper with slight haze and off white head. The aroma is pretty robust with hop spiciness, some sweet malts, floral, a touch of soap and hop resin. The taste is sweet malts moving to pine hop resin, hop spiciness, a touch of grapefruit and staying hop resiny into the finish. It has lingering hops resin supported by echoes of malty sweetness heading deep into the after taste. Full of flavor. Nice!
