3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
750 ml grabbed from the brewery just this week. Poured fresh. A beautiful dark orange pour, a little hazy, with a two finger off white head that is looking super creamy. Floral aroma, grapefruit, orange rinds, som big toffee malt sweetness. Flavor is very malt forward with lots of sweet caramel, then a good but of grapefruit and orange rind follow and linger. The mouthfeel is slick, low carbonation for the style, with a bright fruity character that leaves this lighter than it should be on the palate. Overall this was more malt forward than I had hoped--bordering on a fresh American Barleywine--but a nice beer nonetheless. Donít expect a big citrus west coast IPA when going into this and it is enjoyable.

Growler shared thanks to kantrauch! Pours a hazy golden brown with light bubbly head, lost some carbonation in transit. Aroma of bready caramel, sweet malt, slight medley of citrus hops on top. Taste follows, bittersweet bready grain. Syrupy but no hint of the booze. Nothing spectacular, but not bad.

On draft at the Brass Tap in Trinity, poured a dark orange color with aromas of citrus, loads of pine and some grain. Flavors were pine, light citrus, caramel and more pine. A solid DIPA that I am very glad I finally got to try this one.

Sampled from the tap at the Cajun Cafe Fall Fest. Pours a hazy amber with a yellowish brown head that dissipates to the edges and laces slightly. Aroma has sweet grains and caramel with a thick sappy pine hop note. Flavor starts with more bitter pine has some sappiness and a bit of caramel in the finish to balance the bitterness.

Of IPAs, one of the most balanced. Aroma is sweet and hoppy, with enough zest. Color is orange and opaque with a large white head. Taste is bitter but sweet, hop melding with sugar sweet. Palate is just the right thickness. Great IPA.

Reminds me of Shmaltz Lenny's RIPA. Full bodied, sweet, malty flavor. Plenty of hops. Really good.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
UPDATED: OCT 16, 2014 Really caramel-heavy, sweet DIPA that offers nothing beyond a semblance of grapefruit and orange marmalade in the nose. Totally undrinkable.
It has improved and isnít nearly as sweet as of 2014. The base flavors are still there and itís a touch malty but the citrus and bitterness balance that out.

Orange, mango, citrus awesome with touch of caramel sweetness . Really nice. Flavor adds a lighter sweetness and ends boozy long.
