3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
I’m not a proponent of barrel aging IPAs, but this beer works for me. The nose is mostly oak, bourbon and earth, especially as it warms. Some red grapefruit zest with some pine all over powered by leather, bourbon and wood. As balanced as I think you could get a BA IPA. And while the alcohol is a noticeable taste, it is not intrusive. Still, keep IPAs out of barrels....

Bottle share thanks to Homer321. big boozy, lots of oak, vanilla, light hops and caramel malt, not booze. Big boost flavor, semi sweet, lots of oak, some vanilla, bourbon, decent malt backbone.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle share thanks to Homer. Pours a cloudy orange amber. Small white head. Aroma is malty, almost boozy. Taste is malty, sweet, not much hops left. Taste is good, just no ipa left. More like a ba strong ale.

Seriously one of the nastiest things I've tastes. Leather and citrus. Grapefruit and smoke. I know barrel aging is all the thing now, but it doesn't work with everything!!! Drain pour.

Super boozy flavor and boozy aroma. Not getting any hops out of this one. Another disappointment from Swamphead.

Bottle... Hazy dirty-orange ale with a small, creamy, white head. Decent retention. The nose is of straight-up bourbon and vanilla without the normally accompanying alcohol burn in my nostrils. Medium-bodied with lively carbonation. Tastes like bourbon without the heat. Also, loads of vanilla in the flavor and sweet finish.

Bottle as shown thanks to Will. Pours a cloudy orange with thick white head that lasts leaving spotty lacing. The aroma is oak, booze, and floral hop. Medium mouthfeel with a strong bitter fruit hop and oak with light bitter finish. Very good.

Bottle. Pours a hazy red. Minimal head. Freaking awesome nostrils full of barrel. Vanilla. Pure nostril orgasm. Light hops. Probably too low for a DIPA. Taste is similar go nose. Firm hop bitterness. Moderate lo to hop flavor. Barrel is great. Base beer is a bit muddled. Enjoyable but no DIPA by this point.
