3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap at The Top in G’ville. Clear amber creamy, white head. Decent retention. Carmel and roast in the nose--not a lot of hops. Medium bodied. Clean flavor, light bitterness. Good beer--more like a pale than an IPA.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draft. Small white head. Slightly hazy reddish color. Lots of pine in the nose. Taste is initially bitter, slightly pithy. Hops come across as a good mix of pine and citrus. Clean finish. Solid.

growler from the brewery. Pours a golden color with minimal white head. Big hoppy aroma, mostly pine with some citrus. Nice bitter flavor that one expects from a good IPA. Lingering bitter finish. Not anything out of the ordinary as far as IPAs go, but well executed.

Fucken can @ home, courtesy of DrewFace. Cheers Flo Rida bro! Pours a hazy dark reddish orange appearance with a big butterscotch, nutty, burnt malty, strong aroma. Flavor is a touch better with at least a touch of citrus but still full of butter and pancakes. Bitter, bland hops. Yikes.

Enjoyed with PorterPounder watching the Georgia/SC game on a nice evening, following the Proof Florida Tap Invitational. An average AIPA - nothing objectionable, nothing spectacular. Lots of hops, lots of flavor. Sorry, if you were looking for an epistle on this rating, then you’re going to be disappointed because I left my notebook in the car for this one. OK. Tap, Beef O’Brady’s, midtown.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Swamp Head Big Nose IPA is a well-balanced and enjoyable specimen of the style. Aroma is floral and hoppy. Pour is a hazy amber with a nice frothy head. Floral flavors come out in the taste without a lot of bitterness in the end. Big Nose is an enjoyable and well-done IPA.

3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Translucent deep amber color, extremely frothy off-white head. Pine, floral, caramel, hints of dates, and overcooked vegetables. Surprisingly light sweetness followed by equally light bitterness in the back. Smooth, almost medium-bodied, and a very brief finish. Little booziness.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
The Big Nose has a medium body in a dark amber pour. There is a spiciness to the hop flavor, which is full but not overbearing. Very drinkable for an IPA.

Draft at Avenue wine. Pours light orange with a half inch of white foam. Slight floral note on the nose. Bigger hop presence than I thought it would be but it’s not exactly a hop forward beer. finishes. Lean. Solid but boring for style.
