I was pleasantly surprised by this one. I wasn’t expecting much from a Gainesville brewery, but I definitely enjoyed this one. Great amber color, nice head, hoppy on the palate, in good balance with the malt. The hops remind me of the much better beer I was used to before I moved to FL. Quite a solid beer, definitely recommended.

Pour is orange/amber with a nice white head. Aroma is very piney/citrusey. Has a pretty well balanced taste of all the flavors, by far the best beer to come out of Swamp Head so far. Hopefully more solid beers such as this to come in the future!

Pinellas Park, Fl - on tap as a guest tap at BJ’s. Dark orange pour, sticky off white head that leave a nice coat of lacing. Fresh aromatic spruce-like aroma with a hint of spearmint. Flavor is bold with some citrusy grapefruity bitter goodness, some spearmint and a bit of toffee-like maltiness. Mouthfeel is thick and rich. Very impressed and pleasantly surprised.

6/25/10. On tap. Nice fresh hoppy aroma with sour citrus and some pee, but not bad. The flavor is sweet and sour citrus fruits, but a bit subdued, and it finishes a little creamy and then dry. Not bad, boys!

The aroma is very hoppy with floral, citrus, and pine hops as well as caramel malt and a bit of yeast. The appearance is typical for the style with an average head. The taste is like the aroma with a lingering but not overly bitter hoppiness. The palate is smooth. Overall a very good example of the style.

Draft @ Oldsmar Tap House...pour was a golden orange color with a sizeable white head. Nose with ripe with some strong pine, light citrus and a heavy amount of caramel malt...medium-full bodied. Starts with an initial bitter pine/spruce note and melds quickly into a caramelized orange-rind...finishes lightly sweet with a subtle note of the bitter piney tone.

On draft at OTH. Pours orange amber with an off-white head. Nose has got a nice maltiness to it and a caramel presence with strong citrus hop flavors like apricot, grapefruit, and the like. Flavor is very similar with caramel and malt coming to the fore and the hop presence emerging later. Lingering malt and bitter in the finish of this medium-bodied Florida IPA.

Draft at Common Gounds (Gainesville, FL). Poured a dark copper orange color with a white head. Tons of piney citrus hops in the aroma and flavor. Great aftertaste too!

Tap @ CCB. Poured a deep with an averaged sized egg shell head. Nose is primary notes of grass and citrus with secondary notes of caramel and light bread. Medium to full body with a slightly sticky mouth feel. Lots of caramel malt notes in the flavor, also some big, resinous pine notes with a touch of spice. Finishes very smooth with light warming alcohol.

Draft at Ravenous Pig. Very nice. Bright amber color and served with a thin head. Sweet and citrusy with piney hops and light malt. Spicy bitterness compliments the tropical fruity sweetness nicely. This is quite good.
