COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Catherine II, the 18th century Empress of Russia is said to have been the inspiration behind the creation of the Russian Imperial Stout, an intensely flavored, robust dark ale with a noticeable alcohol presence. Legend has it that Catherine also had a voracious sexual appetite; she was known to have many lovers, but the story about the stallion was probably a myth. We’ve infused this round of our Imperial Russian Stout with a stiff dose of coconut and habanero peppers, creating a smooth, spicy, stout ale that even Catherine herself may have resented.

Poured a dark black color with aromas of roast, peppers, light coconut, chocolate and some earth. Flavors match the aromas not over the top peppers but there with some chocolate an coconut. I was afraid that this was going to be bad but it surprised me.

Bottle... Pours nearly black with a small creamy, mushroom. Decent. Smells like s and a bandage. Full-bodied with lightly creamy and laid-back. Flavor is deep, burnt, bitter toastiness and chili warmth. Finishes charcoal, bitter and chili warmth. Seth

Bottle thanks to homer321, thanks man! Thick oily black colour, with a nice amount of mocha head. Aroma is choolate, coffee, and picy peppers. Taste is coffee roast, chocolate, and nice wallop of spice on the finish, full bodied, plenty of carbonation. I didn’t really pick up on the coconut, but that being said I really liked this, well done.

Bottle - pours dark black and slight tan head. The nose is chocolate and spice heat. The taste is full of spice up front with some bitter chocolate. I got no coconut. This beer is crap. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle at Taylors birthday! Dark black pour tan head nice collar. Light spice and cinnamon. Beer starts sweet light spice then finishes with some nice head. Warm spice and pepper lingers. I like thank the pepper heat lasts on a heavey stout. Good stuff.

Bottle @ RBSG 2014 Grand Tasting. Thanks, Sean. Black pour with just a small khaki head. Roasted malt and slight smoke on the nose. Air amount of cocoa, coffee, and earthy chili. Mild coconut and graham cracker, too. Some vanilla, coconut, and graham cracker sweetness to the flavor. Tons of bitter roasted malt, cocoa powder, and coffee, too. Spicy chili pepper note and certainly some smoke and earthiness. A bit of toffee in there as well.
