UPDATED: AUG 12, 2012 This stout was big and unbalanced - which can be a good thing. If you like the coffee/roasted notes in stouts, then this brew is perfect for you. The aroma was thick and almost smoky with cocoa and coffee notes. The taste was again, very roasted but with a rather light malt undertone. Finished robust, bitter and with a distinct texture that was dry and light.

Draft at CCB. Pour is, of course, black with a tan head. Nose is light chocolate and copious amounts of roast and coffee. The taste is straight up roasted coffee beans. LOTS of roast. If you like coffee stouts, then this one should fit the bill quite nicely. Unfortunately there isn’t much else going on in the flavor but it’s still a nice brew.

On draft poured a dark black color with bitter chocolate aroma, and coffee. Flavors match the aroma, with more focus on the coffee flavor rather than it being balanced like the smell.

On tap, 5th Avenue Tap Room, wife’s 30th class reunion. Inky. Lots of roast and coffee, dark cocoa, lightly bittered otherwise. Some spiciness in the finish. This had a medium mouth. I was well into the evening and without a notepad when I picked this one up. Will do a more in-depth rating someday.
