COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Midnight Oil is an Oatmeal Coffee Stout. "Quiet and sensual like a moonlit night, this complex blend of toasted oats, roasted barley, chocolate wheat malt, and dark roast organic coffee, imparts an intense aroma and complex flavor profile. Midnight Oil will wake up your senses. We brew a traditional English oatmeal stout with a rich malt profile, then add locally roasted organic fair trade coffee while this ale is cold conditioned. Cold extraction imparts an intense coffee aroma and flavor without the bitter oils using heat processing techniques

OmegaX (1255) - Florida, USA - FEB 3, 2012
Draft at CCB. Pour is, of course, black with a tan head. Nose is light chocolate and copious amounts of roast and coffee. The taste is straight up roasted coffee beans. LOTS of roast. If you like coffee stouts, then this one should fit the bill quite nicely. Unfortunately there isn’t much else going on in the flavor but it’s still a nice brew.

Pours dark brown with a tan head and aroma of coffee. Taste is sweet, heavy on espresso and coffee as well as chocolate, oatmeal, and roasted malts with a dry finish. Nice coffee flavor throughout, solid stout.

Thinner mouth feel, but big flavor, coffee, burnt toast and roasted malt. Chocolate, but more of a deep dark chocolate. the coffee that I’m tasting is definitely Ethiopian. this is a pretty rough beer with a cool mouth feel.
