Bottle share at Proof courtesy of scotchzi. Very deep brown with some tna head. Great smokey aroma. Smells like overly smoked pork. Cedar and maybe chestnut. Taste is far too smokey. I’m rarely a fan of American smoked beers. Smoke dominates the palate in this one. Good body and surprisingly high carbonation.

Bottle thanks to a trade! Pours a near clear dark brown with a tan head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has lots of smoke and a bit of leather note with some dark grains and a bit of roasted malts. Flavor has the same notes of smoke and leather backed by dark grains and roast.

This one porued a darker brown color with a beige head. Aroma was of smoked malts, roast and not sure. Falvor was similar, a bit chocolat,e lacking in the smoke character, and a bit underwhelming

Bottle thanks to Sean for sharing. Pours clear dark brown with very little head. Aroma is all smoked meat but its not overpowering really. Taste is smooth, maple smoked meat. Maybe just a hint of cocoa too. So easy to drink but pretty thin. Not bad but pretty one-dimensional and thin.

Bottle: Thanks, Sean! Mostly black, only some mild brown translucency at the very edges, topped with a quickly fading, beige head. Sweet smoke aroma, like the liquid smoke used for cooking. Roasted malts, some very dry cocoa powder, & a slight woodsiness all around. Taste is full of more smooth smoke, introducing a lightly charred campfire essence alongside the mild kiss of hickory sweetness. Dark malt & more of that charred wood presence in the aftertaste. Very nice smoked porter, it went with the pulled pork butt very well!

Bottle: The aroma consists of smoked meat, chocolate, and faint roast. It pours a dark brown with some faint orange highlights. It had a small khaki head that quickly fades to a thin ring. The flavor starts with a quick dose of chocolate and faint molasses. The finish has light-moderate smoke with a touch of roast. It’s light-medium bodied with mild carbonation.

Bottle courtesy of BMMillsy. Sweet smoky honey ham and chocolate malt aroma. Dark brown with a large beige head. Smoky honey ham, chocolate, and roasty malt flavor. Medium creamy body, soft carbonation. Very nice.

From a bottle poured a brown color with very little head. Smokey malty flavor with a quick finish.

My Bottom Line:
Deep smoke resides within this Smoked Porter cozy mouthfeel adding dimensions to intelligent roasted malts and earthy connotations.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A slice of foam tops the dark brown.
-The alderwood smoke shares spicy and fruity notes which are compelling.
-Flavors are all well defined.
-Drinkability is quite high.
-This is not the most complex Smoked Porter and this is not the most intense either. It’s ’simply’ impeccable throughout AND it’s personality is endearing. What more could you want?

Bottle.

(Rating #5466)

Pour is black as night. Big off-white, almost tan, head that quickly falls. Plenty of lacing to remind you that it was once there. Very nice, oily smell of smoke. Malt and vanilla linger as well. Taste is very much smoke up front, followed up with some maltiness. Creamy smooth. Very good.
