A thirst-quenching American Pale Ale with a pleasurable hop aroma and taste. A chip off the same block as our Big Nose cypress knee wood spirit, Stump Knocker is a bit smaller, but he’s got the same hop headed attitude! Light sweet flavor with simple pale malt structure, some rindy citrus, more tangerine. Light bodied with average carbonation. Rindy and pithy citrus on the finish, more simple pale malts, some pale bread. Solid APA.

Nose is tangy citrics, melon, ripe grapefruit, juicy hops, light pine. Taste comprises grapefruit, pine needle, ripe melon, dank notes. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a bitter hop rinse. Refreshing zesty APA, nice!

On tap @ Swamp Head. Slightly hazed orange pour with a white head. Some bready malt along with a big dose of zesty orange, some lemon, and canned peaches. Nicely sweet without being too much, though it’s kind of still on the caramel side rather than more bready, like I’d prefer. Hints of dried pineapple on the finish.

A golden ale with a thin white head. In aroma, superb Nelson Sauvin hops, grape, white wine, lemons, superb. In mouth, a nice light quaffer of a pale ale with light biscuitty malts, very smooth hops. On tap at Oldsmar Tap House, Jan. 4 2011.
