rdelljh (94), USA Sep 30, 2007 this a dark rich beer with a frothy head. I found it to be a more robust than its sam adams counterpart. texture was smooth but not as creamy as a guiness. Had this on tap during oktoberfest at the faire. sloth (1491), Ceciltucky, Co., Maryland, USA Sep 29, 2007 Draft at the PA. Renaissance Fair. Pours aclear amber brown, good clarity with a small offwhite head that holds its retention fairly well. Lighly sweet malt aromas, lightly bready, fresh grain notes and maybe a hint of caramel with a light zesty spiceyness. Body is medium, lightly coating on the palate with a soft carbonation. Medium sweet malt flavors are fairly similar to the aromas. Fresh bready, grainy flavors, sorta sweet but not sticky and maybe a little nutty with the subdued spicey hop bite hiding in the background. Lightly sweet, fresh malty finish. A solid O-fest/Marzen.
