Tap at Sweet Mullets. Hazy orange-brown. Big, steady, creamy off-white head. An interesting beer, very mild sour tones on top of the smooth malt makes an enjoyable combination. Some pumpkin pie spice undertones, but mild enough and well incorporated. Sort of odd, sort of good. OK. Funky vegetal tones. 5.4% when I was there.

hazy amber with an off white head. This one was weird but autumn leaf describes it perfectly. Grassy hops, herbal malt character along with some spicy rye and a bit of maple. Certainly captures a brown leaf on the ground kind of day. I couldn’t drink too much of this but I could see it paired with some dishes with great results.

On draught at the Sweet Mullets brewery taproom, just west of Oconomowoc, Wisconsin. Pours a semi-hazy amber colored brew with a creamy off-whtie head that has some excellent retention and thick lacing. Aroma of weedy green peppers, some P&G Ivory soap perfume, green vegetables and a touch of rye. Taste is medium bodied, some carbonation bubble action with flavors of dandelion stems, clover flowers, some green beans, light caramel and rye malts. Finish has a grassy and floral hop aftertaste, slightly tart with some rye malt profile. Lots of earthy spices in this one.

On tap at Vintage Brewpub. Very murky caramel with a creamy thin tan topper. Aroma of spices, rye, grains and mild pepper. Taste of rye, tannins, fruit and a bit of funk. Odd and interesting.

On tap at the source. A hazy amber brown. Big grassy hop notes, leather, green bean, and an earthy/nutty spice. Flavor follows with prominent grassy/herbal hops, leather, and a bit of green bean. Low malt presence. Fairly dry finish. Very different fallsy/almost-dried-leaf-like flavor. Not bad, not great, just different.

On tap at the brewery, pours a hazy amber orange with a thin head and a little bit of lacing, the aroma has a good amount of spices with a little bit of funk coming throuhg as well, the front end is of grain with a little bit of the spice in the finish, kind of weird but I still dig it.
