On tap at Vintage 3/12/12. Deep brown-black, opaque. Big beige head, steady and creamy. Big chocolate aroma. Big chocolate taste. Watery English body. Really nails the Caribbean Stout style, they’d be all over this down there. Roasty chocolate tones, but a delicate smooth backbone, a touch of lactose. Creamy, quite delicious. A pleasant surprise. Not so sessionable, but great for the style.

Black pour with a small off white head. Coffee forward stout with a bit of roast and chocolate, nothing too overwhelming. Lighter mouthfeel, semi dry, very good carbonation for the style.

On tap at the brewery, pours black with a thin tan head and spotty lacing, the aroma has a ton of chocolate and coffee, very nice, the front end has nice notes of chocolate and toffee with a finish of coffee, roasty flavors through out, nice thick mouthfeel, really good stuff.

On tap at brewpub. Looks and tastes like an average export stout. Very nice mouthfeel. A bit creamy. Sweet Mullets!

On tap at Sweet Mullets brewpub. Dark brown with a thin tan head and ruby lowlights. Aroma of roasted dark malts, coffee and a hint of chocolate. Taste of heavily roasted malt, chocolate, coffee and a peppery finish. Ok.

On tap at Vintage Brewing in Madison. Poured dark brown with a nice cap of yellowy-beige head. The aroma was sweet with coffee and burnt black patent malts leading.. vanilla and a touch of smoke accented.. overall sweet and very approachable. The flavor found burnt coffee, a touch of smoked malt, and vanilla at the core.. coffee bitterness and some peppery alcohol around.. finished roasty and a little tart. Medium-bodied and well-carbonated on the palate.. OK feel and flow.. good stuff.

On tap at brewery. Deep black with mocha head. Aroma is refined roasted malt/coffee, light molasses, brown sugar, and cream. Flavor is initially fresh-steeped coffee and roasted malt and finishes with a brown sugar sweetness. Residual is malt sweetness and faint smoky roast.

On draught at the Sweet Mullets brewery in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin. Pours an opaque dark brown colored brew with a creamy beige head that slowly dissipates to a thin ring and leaves behind some spotty lacing. Aroma of toasted dark malt, a hint of chocolate, mocha and some light floral hops. Taste is medium bodied, some flavors of smoked and toasted dark malts, floral hops and a touch of coffee. Finish is quite smooth, a short lived mild bitterness followed by some lightly smoked dark malt aftertaste. A solid stout throughout with a touch of smoke flavors.

Although I am not usually a stout drinker, I tried this beer based on it’s beautiful color and aroma. One of the best stouts I’ve had! Not overwhelming but great flavors of coffee and chocolate.

On tap at the O’so tap house. Pours black with a brown head that dissipates to the edges and laces thickly. Aroma has a good amount of roast with backing bitter chocolate and a bit of dry coffee. Flavor is full of roasted malts with a good amount of dark chocolate and coffee with a nice dryness in the finish.
