2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 nuplastikk (3284) - Madison, Wisconsin, USA - APR 26, 2013
Tap at Vintage 3/25/12. Hazy orange-tan, looks unfiltered. Big steady creamy white head. Really allowing the rye to shine, this is a unique beer. Doughy soapy hop edges. The soapy, dry bitterness is sort of unappealing to me...I’m not really a fan of this one. Biting amber citrus. Kind of gross. maybe infected?

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Skyview (5023) - Papoose Jct, Minnesota, USA - APR 22, 2012
On draught at both Vintage brewpub in Madison, and at the Sweet Mullets Brewery in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin. Pours a clear golden amber colored brew with a creamy off-white head that has some excellent retention and lacing. Aroma of crystal hops, multi-grain malt with a touch more rye than most other rye ales. Taste is medium bodied, dry grainy malt with rye, a hint of floral and grassy hops and a touch of spice. Finish has a mild bitterness that slowly disappears leaving behind some dry rye aftertaste. Rye is not overpowering, just right for my liking.

On tap at the brewpub. Pours a clear golden amber with a tan head that dissipates slowly to the edges and laces. Aroma has a light grassy flora note but mainly has notes of bread and rye. Flavor is mainly bread and rye throughout with a bit of crispness in the finish. Quite drinkable.

On tap at Vintage as "Rye Bob" - Pours clear amber with an off-white head. Lightly sour nose, with apple and white grape to go along with a nice herbal/floral hopping combo. Tastes very clean, with rye spice coming out, with bread dough, mineral, light herbal hops, and a dusty yeast finish. Smooth and well-carbonated. Very impressed.

Clear gold with a head that lasts. Lager-like aroma, moderate pale ale malty. Moderately malty, biscuit. Medium body, light spiciness from rye, light hop bitterness, resin like. Pale ale like beer, drinkable.
