Bottle. Pours a transparent amber with off white head. Aroma of malts and grass with slight citrus hints. Taste of raisins and alcohol. Drinks much smoother than the style would suggest.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Clear red/brown pour with ample tan head. Smells of caramel biscuits and berries. Very drinkable, and hides the abv fairly well despite a decent amount of booziness. A little watery. Old hoppy papery finish that i’m not really a fan of. But overall, i’m impressed.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Extra in trade from westmeister. Thanks, Wes! Deep burgundy amber. Nose of hops, mostly citrusy, toffee, alcohol. Full bodied, good tension between hops and malt. Sweet toffee and maybe a hint of dried cherries. Pretty much just a solid barleywine. Expected it to be lighter with more of a wheat profile. Interesting.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Beautiful burgundy color with thick tan foam. Malty caramel aroma with a little spice. Sweet malt and caramel dominate the taste but the wheat is there too. There’s some hop in the finish along with a bit of coffee. Heavier smooth and slippery feel. Nice beer. The wheat separates it from a standard barley wine.
