COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Sweetwater Blue is a unique lighter style ale enhanced with a hint of fresh blueberry. When you drink this beer take a good whiff first and you’ll smell the blueberry influence, but on the taste it’s extremely subtle and the finish is extra clean. Ain’t no fruit beer, but it is our breakfast beer, usually folks that are looking to quench their thirst or for those that are new to the “good beer” lifestyle; this is their choice. This brew and the ESB were the original two to go through the tanks at SweetWater in February 1997.

Medals: Bronze medal winner at the 1998 World Beer Cup, Fruit Beer category; Always the funky favorite at any outdoor beer festival

Malt: 2 Row, Wheat

Hops: Centenial

A thin light head, with a faint hint of fruit/blueberry in the aroma. The color of Budweiser. In fact, it’s like Budweiser with a hint of blueberry. Maybe should call it Blueweiser.

Golden color with almost no head and no lacing. Smell is blueberry with a little grain. Taste is fairly bland with some blueberry. Not terrible, and would drink it over a blonde or lager.

Tastes light and has a nice subtle blueberry feel as it goes down. This does not taste fruity, but the hint of it and good taste makes you want another sip.

A slight blueberry aroma but mostly malt and sugar. The flavor is like a wheat beer with a hint of sourness. About an average fruit beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle poured into glass. Well for what it is, a blueberry beer, it’s not half bad. The blueberry is more on the back end but it’s still rather tasty and worth a shot.

A very fruity beer that is refreshing. Blueberry infused this one is better than other fruity beers I have had. Hoppy and fruity smelling. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

A strong nose of blueberries let you know what you are in for before even putting this beer to your tastebuds. A refreshing beer with the taste of fresh blueberries makes you love this beer on a hot day.

This pours a clear, light amber color with a slight, off-white head. The aroma is very grassy and grainy. The taste is fairly decent for its style as it’s light in body and flavor. It’s perhaps a little thinner than I would like, but than again it is made for a warmer climate than where I am from. Hints of grass and grains in the flavor. Finishes pretty clean with just the slightest hint of blueberries.

Nice try for a fruit beer, the blueberries in this one arent too overly done but still enough to keep me from drinking this again. Lighter bodied and less offensive than other fruit beers and not overly difficult to drink but ones enough for a long time.
