COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Sweetwater Blue is a unique lighter style ale enhanced with a hint of fresh blueberry. When you drink this beer take a good whiff first and you’ll smell the blueberry influence, but on the taste it’s extremely subtle and the finish is extra clean. Ain’t no fruit beer, but it is our breakfast beer, usually folks that are looking to quench their thirst or for those that are new to the “good beer” lifestyle; this is their choice. This brew and the ESB were the original two to go through the tanks at SweetWater in February 1997.

Medals: Bronze medal winner at the 1998 World Beer Cup, Fruit Beer category; Always the funky favorite at any outdoor beer festival

Malt: 2 Row, Wheat

Hops: Centenial

Bottle. The best thing about the beer is the aroma. It is intensely blueberry. The beer poured a strawberry blond color. A small white head dissipated rapidly. It had a decent lager taste, but with very little carbonation and almost no hop profile. If you can say it has a blueberry taste, it would be the sort of tanic aftertaste. It is not unpleasant. Not a bad beer. Fun to drink because of the aroma.

Darker blond coloured beer. Almost no carbonation and a small white head. Very fruity aroma, hints of fresh flowers and honey. Medium palate. Finihs is light herby, sweet fruity hinted. Medium.

12oz bottle from my trip to Florida. Yuck medicinal taste, could not finish this. Clear bright yellow with no head. Nose of blueberries-I hate blueberries. Taste is upfront blueberries-extracts?? that dies quickly. This is one that the taste goes away quickly. Thin pallet-I’ve had better fruit beers.

Appearance: Hazy golden with a medium sized white head and some lacing
Aroma: Blueberries and wheat
Taste: Same as aroma and sweet malts
OK, might be good outside on a hot day.

Poured form a 12 ounce bottle into a pint glass, looks of clear yellow, with small whit head. Aroma of a hint of wheat, and blueberries. Tastes like a classic pilsner with a small aftertaste of blueberries. Out of all the Sweetwater beers, I was expecting more, but overall slightly disappointed with this one.

A clear, golden pour with a white head. It has a wheat aroma with some blueberry and slight pepper. The medium body has a crisp texture and lively carbonation. The taste is well balanced with sweet blueberry appearing lightly in the finish.

Free sample on draft at Atlanta airport. I just don’t think that lager-like beers and fruit go together well, and this one proves my point.

Bottle. Pours a clear yellow color with a small white head. Has a sweetish fruity fresh blueberry aroma. Sweetish malty grainy blueberry flavor. Has a sweetish fruity blueberry finish.
