COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Sweetwater Blue is a unique lighter style ale enhanced with a hint of fresh blueberry. When you drink this beer take a good whiff first and you’ll smell the blueberry influence, but on the taste it’s extremely subtle and the finish is extra clean. Ain’t no fruit beer, but it is our breakfast beer, usually folks that are looking to quench their thirst or for those that are new to the “good beer” lifestyle; this is their choice. This brew and the ESB were the original two to go through the tanks at SweetWater in February 1997.

Medals: Bronze medal winner at the 1998 World Beer Cup, Fruit Beer category; Always the funky favorite at any outdoor beer festival

Malt: 2 Row, Wheat

Hops: Centenial

Bottle: Tastes like ice tea mixed with blueberries. Just awful. I would not and could not drink again.

Nope, this does not do it for me. Smells like blueberry muffins, but the "extremely subtle" taste they claim is totally lost on me. Sweetwater usually makes pretty solid beers, but this one is not for me. Ech.

Pours light copper with distinct blueberry aroma. Taste follows aroma but does not linger. Smooth finish. Good with meal.

Thanks Uncle Mattie. 12 oz bottle. Clear bright yellow with no head. Nose of blueberries-I hate blueberries. Taste is upfront blueberries-extracts?? that dies quickly. This is one that the taste goes away quickly. Thin pallet-I’ve had better fruit beers.

This is perfect for a spring day, after a pointless day at work, and with a spicy meal. Yes, it tastes like cereal and fruit loops, but as strong as a lambic. I’ve tried almost all the Sweetwater brews since I’ve lived in Atlanta, and this is my third favorite - after the Happy Ending and the Hummer.

Pours copper with a thin but persistent white head. Smells of blueberry pie. Tastes of pronounced blueberry syrup and velvety.

12 ounce bottle- poured a light clear golden, virtually no head. Aroma was blueberries. Taste was blueberry and way too sweet for my taste. Call this one an interesting novelty. Glad I tried it, but I could live without it.

Bottle. Pours pale golden, with a small white head and little retention. Aroma is like Booberry cereal--strong bluebery and bread. Flavor is similar, with a bit of sweetness. Finish is a little watery, but not that bad for a fruit beer.
