Sweetwater Blue is a unique lighter style ale enhanced with a hint of fresh blueberry. When you drink this beer take a good whiff first and you’ll smell the blueberry influence, but on the taste it’s extremely subtle and the finish is extra clean. Ain’t no fruit beer, but it is our breakfast beer, usually folks that are looking to quench their thirst or for those that are new to the “good beer” lifestyle; this is their choice. This brew and the ESB were the original two to go through the tanks at SweetWater in February 1997.

Medals: Bronze medal winner at the 1998 World Beer Cup, Fruit Beer category; Always the funky favorite at any outdoor beer festival

Malt: 2 Row, Wheat

Hops: Centenial

Picked up a bottle from the camp store, while camping in Tennessee. A good summer beer that is easy drinking with just a touch of blueberry. The blueberry is so subtle, hard to call it a fruit beer. More like a light beer with a hint of blueberry. I would definitely get this again.

Back porch, preheating charcoal for huge burgers. For what it is, it's a great beer. Tastes like it's supposed to. Would I buy it again? Yes. Do I want this with a fat burger? No. But it's nice to sip on while hanging around the house. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Draft pour. White head. Blueberry bud light would be a good analogy. It's pretty good though

Nice amber/gold color; Light to medium body; Aroma of sweet malt, & subtle blueberries; Flavor of slight sweet malt, fruit (mild blueberries), and light spice; Crisp finish; Pretty decent for what it is.

12 Fl. Oz. Bottle. Poured golden, clear with a thin white head, not a lot of retention and no lacing. Aroma of wheat and blueberries. Taste is pretty much the Sam but with the addition of the sweetness from the malts. Interesting, perhaps I’m glad I tried it, but nothing really special here.

Golden clear with some blueberry aroma. Fizzy and regular type of light beer with blueberries. Lean not much too it, refreshing to say.

12 oz. bottle pours a clear golden color with small white head and no lacing. Aroma has grains and blueberry. Taste is sweet and full of blueberries, with just a reminder that this might be a wheat beer underneath all the blueberry flavor. Body is light with lively carbonation and a crisp mouthfeel. Nothing too complex here, but a refreshing drink for a hot day, which seems to be perfect for people who don’t like the taste of normal beer or my favorite abnormal beers. I doubt I’ll buy this novelty again.

Bottle shipped to me from NC to MN courtesy of McBeer. Blueberry aroma. Don’t get that everyday in a beer. In fact doesn’t smell like beer. Hazy gold with particalia. Thin white ring. Not as sweet as it smells, which is a good thing. Blueberries are there for sure, but subtle. Bready finish. Really nice. Refreshing.

On tap and shaker served at the Beer House Chicago in Lombard, IL., showing a golden hue, with a presentable layer of off white head foam, and good cling to the ribbony waves of lacing. The nose was soft grain and expressive blueberry that was more on the sweet side than tart. Light bodied, with lively carbonation, the blueberry was less expressive in the flavor. Refreshing, summery faire, nonetheless.

June 5, 2015 - on tap at the airport bar. Clear golden pour with limited head. Aroma was grainy with maybe a touch of spice and blueberry. The taste was a nice wheat beer, but the blueberry was a nice compliment. Very clean and crisp finish with carbonation that was appropriate for the style. One of my favorite wheat beers, even if the database classifies this as a fruit beer.
