COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Sweetwater Blue is a unique lighter style ale enhanced with a hint of fresh blueberry. When you drink this beer take a good whiff first and you’ll smell the blueberry influence, but on the taste it’s extremely subtle and the finish is extra clean. Ain’t no fruit beer, but it is our breakfast beer, usually folks that are looking to quench their thirst or for those that are new to the “good beer” lifestyle; this is their choice. This brew and the ESB were the original two to go through the tanks at SweetWater in February 1997.

Medals: Bronze medal winner at the 1998 World Beer Cup, Fruit Beer category; Always the funky favorite at any outdoor beer festival

Malt: 2 Row, Wheat

Hops: Centenial

Hazy golden pour with a nice head that went away quickly. Aroma is distinctly blueberry, though the taste of blueberry doesn’t come through as strong as the smell. Very mild and smooth, pleasantly surprised.

Bottle. Smells strongly of blueberry, but just tastes like wheat and bubbles with a slight hint of the smell. Clear, yellow, no head. More than the sum of its parts.

Bottle. Bought in Fort Lauderdale. Nice experience, the blueberry not too prominent in appearance.

A great easy to drink summer beer . Very crisp and smooth. Pours a very light color without much head. Smells more than tastes like blueberry. Easy to drink.

Bottle. Hazy gold color with no head. Aroma of wheat and blueberries. Taste of wheat, blueberries and lots of carbonation. Blueberry aftertaste. A fun beer but just okay

Slightly hazy pale straw with minimal head and no lace. Taste is wheat and carbonation with a slight bit of blueberry showing early in the palate, and re-emerging at the back end of the finish. Drinkable, not particularly memorable.

Blueberry taste is very subtle but it is very powerful in the aroma. So much so that it is kind of off putting. Maybe be better on a warm summer day instead of this december night.

5/2/2010. Sampled at the brewery. Straw yellow with a white head. Definitely blueberry aromas. Malt and light hops too, but mostly just blueberry. Summer beer maybe?

12oz bottle best by three weeks ago, oh no... - pours slightly unfiltered gold with big bubbled white head. Ukraine can suck it. Nose is very berry. Sweet with a wheat finish: swheat. Easy to drink. Fruity. I probably wouldn’t drink more than five in a row, unless I never want to ever drink this ever again, ever.
