Sweetwater Blue is a unique lighter style ale enhanced with a hint of fresh blueberry. When you drink this beer take a good whiff first and you’ll smell the blueberry influence, but on the taste it’s extremely subtle and the finish is extra clean. Ain’t no fruit beer, but it is our breakfast beer, usually folks that are looking to quench their thirst or for those that are new to the “good beer” lifestyle; this is their choice. This brew and the ESB were the original two to go through the tanks at SweetWater in February 1997.

12 fl oz. Golden colour small head. Berry notes and some ok dryness in the aftertaste, but otherwise boring. Not impressed.

Smells like blueberries and taste like blueberry with hints of wheat. Not my favorite.

Bottle. All around just okay. A light bodied, fruity tasting beer - likely useful for those wanting this, but the blueberry is not my first choice.

Excellent for what it is. A light ale with a hint of blueberry. Excellent warm weather brew. Nothing overwhelming, but it works.

Other than the blueberry aroma this beer is very disappointing. Pale with a very grainy texture and finish. No balance and very little flavor.

Bottle from River Horse Tavern Dublin GA, Best by 1/29/2014 consumed 4/17/14 so obviously the fruit has faded. beyond that this is a benign wheat with little to no flavor issues. I would like to try this fresh as its probably nice and girly

12oz bottle in a teku. Pours transparent golden/amber with a white head. Aroma of pale malts, light dough, floral hops, and hints of blueberries. Flavor the same. Average texture. Not that great.

I enjoyed this. Fruit beers are not my go-to style; however, the subtlety of this one was impressive. The aroma was of pale malt with a hint of blueberry. Golden pale ale/pilsner color. Light body with good carbonation. Crisp palate that made it easy to drink with food. Basic pale ale with a mild blueberry and other berry touch. Not sugary or overdone. Just enough to make it unique and enjoyable.

Bottle. Pours a golden color with white head. Sweet, blueberry yogurt aromas. Blueberry, cracker, slight soda water flavors. Pretty good for a blueberry beer.

Poured from the bottle into a pint glass to drink. The beer was mostly clear with a light amber-straw color and lots of rising bubbles to a large foamy white head with shorter retention, with very little cling and lacing. Its aroma was dominated by the blueberry scent, which was blend with some grain and yeast notes and a bit of caramel malt and wheat. It was somewhat sweet with a blueberry blend, but also a bit of wheaty and yeasty sourness to it. The beer had a somewhat dry body with lively carbonation and fizz, and a lighter, thinner mouthfeel.
