COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Sweetwater Blue is a unique lighter style ale enhanced with a hint of fresh blueberry. When you drink this beer take a good whiff first and you’ll smell the blueberry influence, but on the taste it’s extremely subtle and the finish is extra clean. Ain’t no fruit beer, but it is our breakfast beer, usually folks that are looking to quench their thirst or for those that are new to the “good beer” lifestyle; this is their choice. This brew and the ESB were the original two to go through the tanks at SweetWater in February 1997.

Medals: Bronze medal winner at the 1998 World Beer Cup, Fruit Beer category; Always the funky favorite at any outdoor beer festival

Malt: 2 Row, Wheat

Hops: Centenial

330 ml bottle in Pompano Beach Fl. Pours a lighter golden to yellow color, has a medium beige head that fades quickly Aroma: blueberry as soon as I cracked the bottle, the fake lifesaver type.Taste is wheat, blueberry, some of the earthy hops are hinting at the finish, some tart. Palate: moderate c02, light mouthfeel, leaves mouth kind of dry, a kind of tart aftertaste. This is ice cream parlor flavored brewery stuff. Not good.

Tap: Clear gold, with a small, off-white head. Blueberry muffin aroma. Very sweet, but not overly so.... Pretty good, authentic blueberry flavour... Restrained and pretty tasty.

Almost frighteningly blueberry in aroma, but the taste is much more understated. Delicious but a little on the carbonated side.

My favorite fruit infused beer. Sweetwater does a good job on all of their beers. Aroma is decent, but not great, a whiff of blueberry and malt. Appearance is so-so, slightly cloudy, like they couldn’t decide whether they wanted it to be a clear lager or a cloudy wheat. The taste is great as far as fruit infused beers go, very noticeable blueberry taste followed by a slightly malty finish. My overall rating reflects my general dislike of fruit-infused beers, but Sweetwater does a great job on this one.

Clear golden with a faint light cap. Sweet nose of starchy blueberry muffins. Flavor is light and crisp with a nutty blonde sweet grain, and a pervasive but light fruity blueberry tone.

Bottle and draft... A very well balanced blueberry beer. Drinks more like a blueberry pilsner than a wheat beer which is nice for a change. Not too sweet but a straight forward blueberry beer. Probably second only to cigar city blueberry muffin brown
