COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Sweetwater Blue is a unique lighter style ale enhanced with a hint of fresh blueberry. When you drink this beer take a good whiff first and you’ll smell the blueberry influence, but on the taste it’s extremely subtle and the finish is extra clean. Ain’t no fruit beer, but it is our breakfast beer, usually folks that are looking to quench their thirst or for those that are new to the “good beer” lifestyle; this is their choice. This brew and the ESB were the original two to go through the tanks at SweetWater in February 1997.

Medals: Bronze medal winner at the 1998 World Beer Cup, Fruit Beer category; Always the funky favorite at any outdoor beer festival

Malt: 2 Row, Wheat

Hops: Centenial

I love blueberries, so already I'm biased. slightly hazy orange colour. smells sweet, but like real blueberries. sweet malt gives more of a mixed berry taste while the blueberryies lend a bit of peppery spice. mild hop finish.

Medium hazy gold with a small white head. Intense very short sharp sour berry and peppery spicy aroma. Bland flatish palate. Flavours (light sour and weak sweet) are significantly weaker than suggested by the aroma. Light dry finish.

Great summer beer. Light and fruity. Prominent blueberry taste and smell, sugary aftertaste on lips. A wonderful beer to start your wife on to get her off the domestic swill.

Candyish, but still authentic-tasting blueberriesherlad a citrusy witbier base...Bitter yeast flakes swirl around but crash to a watery end...A very good variation on the Belgian wit theme...Thanks Kimchee!...

12 oz bottle, tulip glass. White, fizzy head is short lived. Body is a medium yellow and appears to be thin. Blueberries dominate the aroma. Light bread malts, flowery hops...I think. Overall, the aroma is clean, light, and one dimensional, but pleasant. Moderately sweet throughout with light bitterness in the finish. Full on blueberries don't arrive until the aftertaste, which figures given their sweet and tart nature. Palate is thin and watery with soft carbonation. The bottom line is: while there's a great blueberry taste here, the beer behind it's not too solid.

This beer poured a hazy yellow gold gold color and formed a small bubbly white head that left trace lace as it subsided. An aroma of hops, malt and blueberry/cirtrus. The flavor was of hops with a hint of blueberry but finishes with a grain/wheat style similar to a wheat beer. I think our local brewer Barley's does a better job with their Raspberry Wheat than what they are trying to accomplish here

This one is really all about the aroma - fantastic blueberry - strong enough to lead me to believe that the taste would be too sweet. Flavor was sparkling, light, lemony; fruit taste was more subtle and in the background more. Fisnished quick and dry. Refreshing.
