COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Sweetwater Blue is a unique lighter style ale enhanced with a hint of fresh blueberry. When you drink this beer take a good whiff first and you’ll smell the blueberry influence, but on the taste it’s extremely subtle and the finish is extra clean. Ain’t no fruit beer, but it is our breakfast beer, usually folks that are looking to quench their thirst or for those that are new to the “good beer” lifestyle; this is their choice. This brew and the ESB were the original two to go through the tanks at SweetWater in February 1997.

Medals: Bronze medal winner at the 1998 World Beer Cup, Fruit Beer category; Always the funky favorite at any outdoor beer festival

Malt: 2 Row, Wheat

Hops: Centenial

12oz. Bottle (at 4.7%ABV per the Bottle): Aroma of blueberry and slight malt. Poured yellow/gold in color with a large, creamy, dense, white head that greatly diminished but lasted throughout around the edges only. Clear. Sparkling. Flavor is light to medium sweet. Tastes of blueberry, malt, and grain. Light to medium body. Lightly slick, then slightly sticky texture. Average carbonation. Blueberry, malt, and grain finish is slightly sticky and lightly dry.

UPDATED: JUN 17, 2011 Love this beer. My favorite by Sweetwater. The blueberry isn’t too over powering.

Pretty much as advertised. A golden-like ale with a mild blueberry flavor that wasn’t artificial, nor overbearing. These beers aren’t my thing, but if a mild, light ale flavored with blueberry appeals to you as a description, I’ll bet you really like it.

Aroma is of ablueberry patch, slight corn, appearance is yellow lager. Highly caronated, 2 finger head dissipates to thin ring. Taste is slight blueberry taste, light hops, low malt, clear color. Tastes like Miller lite infused with blueberry. Will have again and great Summer session brew. Highly recommended! light & sweet..

12 oz. bottle. Pours a light orange with a thin fizzy head. The aroma is pine hops and berries. The flavor is tart and bitter, with a fruity sweetness. The palate is medium gravity, sticky and astringent. Light and not too fruity.

Poured an absolutely clear golden color. Little head. No lace. Fruity blueberry aroma. Light sweetness. Light body, thin texture. Ave carbonation. Kind of abrupt finish. Very easy drinkin and pretty refreshing. Tastes like a normal american Bud or Miller with blueberry flavor.

12oz bottle from total wine in greenville some time ago. pours a light, golden-yellow with a two-finger, white head and light lacing. aroma is nice with fresh, wild blueberries, pie filling, pancake batter, and light grass with hints of citrus fruits and sugary malts. flavor is tasty with mild, dry, tart blueberry notes, light toast, and biscuity malts backed by grassy hops. palate is crisp, dry, and quite refreshing in the heat of the summer. overall, a nice fruit beer.

lucent gold, foamy white head, medium-light body, medium carbonation.

aroma: sweet blueberries, funky yeast, cereal (wheat or rice).

taste: wheat tartness, pale malts, funky yeast, and a definite but short blueberry presence in the aftertaste. blueberry actually lessens, and a little bit of hop bitterness emerges toward the bottom of the glass.

balanced and quaffable, could easily go with some pancakes or a hammock. both the beer and the fruit are light and refreshing. i’d guess the base to be something between a witbier or blonde, and an american wheat. reminds me of that blueberry morning breakfast cereal. fyi -i love blueberries.
