COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Sweetwater Blue is a unique lighter style ale enhanced with a hint of fresh blueberry. When you drink this beer take a good whiff first and you’ll smell the blueberry influence, but on the taste it’s extremely subtle and the finish is extra clean. Ain’t no fruit beer, but it is our breakfast beer, usually folks that are looking to quench their thirst or for those that are new to the “good beer” lifestyle; this is their choice. This brew and the ESB were the original two to go through the tanks at SweetWater in February 1997.

Medals: Bronze medal winner at the 1998 World Beer Cup, Fruit Beer category; Always the funky favorite at any outdoor beer festival

Malt: 2 Row, Wheat

Hops: Centenial

Golden pour with a fully diminished head, leaving no lace. The nose is of straight blueberries. Flavors of both natural and artificial blueberry flavoring and essence, with some muddy grains underneath. Same grainy finish. Not complex, a medium-thin body, light mouthfeel with decently integrated carbonation, this is a "run of the mill" (although not bad) blueberry brew. I would have it again, nothing grossly inappropriate.

Pours a clear slightly hazy golden with an off-white head. Extremely strong blueberry aroma. Thin body, very dry and perfumy. Finishes light and fruity, no aftertaste. Not my type of beer, save it for your girlfriend.

Aroma leaves a sticky-sweet aftereffect. Color is light golden. Tangy at first, blueberry aftertaste.

(12oz bottle thanks to angrypirate06) very pale yellow pour with no head. Nose of blueberry juice and lunch meat. Kind of nasty! Taste of watery artificial blueberries. Nothing offensive really here (except the nose) and definitely nothing good.

Courtesy of angrypirate06. Clear golden color/ fleeting white head. Big fresh blueberry aromas. Mild grainy pale malt, unripe blueberry flavors.
