COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Sweetwater Blue is a unique lighter style ale enhanced with a hint of fresh blueberry. When you drink this beer take a good whiff first and you’ll smell the blueberry influence, but on the taste it’s extremely subtle and the finish is extra clean. Ain’t no fruit beer, but it is our breakfast beer, usually folks that are looking to quench their thirst or for those that are new to the “good beer” lifestyle; this is their choice. This brew and the ESB were the original two to go through the tanks at SweetWater in February 1997.

Medals: Bronze medal winner at the 1998 World Beer Cup, Fruit Beer category; Always the funky favorite at any outdoor beer festival

Malt: 2 Row, Wheat

Hops: Centenial

Poured from a12 oz bottle into a pint glass. Aroma- slight hint of blueberries followed by a wheat backdrop Appearance- this beer is a clear golden color. A one inch white head that doesn’t stay long Taste- A definite taste of semi-sweet blueberries and wheat. Not a bad combo Palate- A mildly carbonated and slightly dry feel. Definitely a summer time brew Overall- an OK summer time brew, I really hoped that I would have enjoyed this more. It is brewed locally so I think I need to give it another try and see if I wasn’t giving it, its do.

Draft pour. Pours a clear copper color with a thin white head of foam. The aroma is like pine cotton candy. The taste is dry pine bitterness. Lighter body and medium carbonation.

Clear amber with very thin off-white head. Aroma is all blueberry...a bit much. Mostly a wheat beer flavor, but the blueberry aroma is too overpowering. Okay, for a fruit beer.

Pours a clear golden yellow. Aroma is sweet blueberries and the taste follows the nose. This is a great blueberry beer.

Traditional American wheat. Starts a little sweet with a noticeable blueberry flavor. Finishes citrusy and slightly tart. Not overly fruity. Very smooth silky mouth feel. Easy on the pallet.

Poured as a taster at local bottle shop. Pours a light gold. Aromas of wheat and very subtle blueberry. Finishes clean and without a lot of blueberry taste, mostly just wheat. Okay, but nothing special.

12 fl oz. Golden colour small head. Berry notes and some ok dryness in the aftertaste, but otherwise boring. Not impressed.

Smells like blueberries and taste like blueberry with hints of wheat. Not my favorite.
